Is ENF technically a form of Sadism?

Post by nothingness36 »

This has bothered me for a bit. Would my ENF fetish qualify as a form of sadism?

There are 2 types of sadism. Physical like spankings and pain etc. But also emotional sadism which is enjoyment of causing emotional pain like humilation, fear or a plethora of negative emotions.

And if we look at the actual definition of sadism it says: "the tendency to derive pleasure, especially sexual gratification, from inflicting pain, suffering, or humiliation on others." Just imagine emotional rather than physical and you have ENF.

And then when I think of what I like about ENF... I like when a girl is humilated in front of everyone. Exposed with no way to cover up. I like to imagine how she feels in that moment. Sometimes I fantasize about seeing one publicly.

Am I not experiencing sadistic thoughts hoping a girl goes thru a traumatic experience like that?

I mean it depends really on how extream you like it. It's definatly a spectrum, honestly somthing like skirt blowing up in the wind, a towel falling while cahngfing, friendly pranks IRL are my jam. However in fiction we can explore the more extream dark sides of our kinks that definatly cross into Sadism. However I (personally anyway) wouldn't want these situations to actually happen to people in real life and thats how I view it anyway.

Yep, which is also why the majority of the stories on here would be illegal as hell in the real world, and why porn studios willing to cater to the fetish are very rare outside of Japan.

I've mentioned a few times before that my signature writing style is a hybrid of ENF elements and snuff elements, usually focusing on the girl's desperate, helpless struggle to avoid the death of her modesty with the same fanaticism she would show if her actual life was on the line. The tension of the danger is the most erotic element in my mind, mixed with the extreme power dynamic where one person has complete control and the other is completely at their mercy. Ironically, stories about pain or injury are a huge turn-off for me. I don't even care for spanking most of the time.

But yes, ENF is absolutely a form of sadism, and in many ways ENM is a form of masochism (when read by a straight guy).

Yes, but consider that Sadism does not necessarily equate to cruelty, just as masochism does not equate to self-hatred or self-loathing, which is a stigma many in the S&M community will tell you they experience or have seen play out.

Also note that it doesn't even have to be sexual, ever see a TV show where someone gets pranked or an arrogant haughty girl gets humiliated in public? This is referred to as SchadenFreude, a German word translating to "Pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others." (Hi German people, please don't kill me for massacring your language).

This doesn't necessarily equate to you enjoying human suffering per se, in fact, I've heard studies say that this response allows humans to humanize people who we see as arrogant and anti-social in that regard, in the sense that we see them as fallible human beings just like the rest of us.

So don't worry about it, it's perfectly normal, at least, as normal as a niche sexual kink can be.
