Without spoiling anything, I can at least promise you that this is not being narrated from beyond the grave. So Annie will return to control at some point in the story. Also, as I have mentioned on a different thread in the General Discussion, my current plan is for this to be a trilogy, with the third volume being called "After Therapy".computerphoto wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 1:52 pm hopefully Annie comes back and they can figure out what is wrong with her.
Hope that helps.

Re: Extreme Therapy - Book 1 Complete Book 2 Chapter 13 Posted
I’m on a hiatus from this story for a bit. I felt that my latest chapters were not as well written and I needed to go find some new inspiration to continue it well.
Currently I am inspired to write in a completely different genre. Don’t worry, this will be concluded in time.

**********************************************************************************************************************NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:
I had to rewrite this chapter. I needed to change the direction of the story a bit from where I was taking it in the original version. More chapters are on the way.
More Therapy - Chapter 13When my kids become wild and unruly, I use a nice, safe playpen. When they’re finished, I climb out. – Erma Bombeck
“Sophie, wake up” came a voice in the darkness. “Wake up, I said.”
The lights came on and Tom was standing at the entrance, holding the leash. “Sophie! What’s the matter with you? Bad girl!”
Sophie’s eyes darted around, but she had no clue why she was a bad girl. “You’re not supposed to pee on the floor. You know better.”
Glancing around, I caught the glint of light reflecting off the small pool of liquid across the room.
Tom grabbed Sophie by the collar and pulled us across the room. “Bad girl!” He repeated and then pressed Sophie’s face into the yellow liquid. “NO!”
Sophie was quivering with fear. I could smell the strong stench of urine now dripping from my nose and chin. I wanted to throw up, but Sophie was in control and she hadn’t even flinched at the idea being covered in pee.
Tom then walked us down the hall to the Dr. Howard’s office. Dr. Howard was sitting behind a large oak desk, writing notes in a journal of some sort. Tom explained the mishap in the room. Dr. Howard told Tom to go clean it up.
“Looks like you’re going to need some additional obedience training before we continue with your other lessons.” Dr. Howard told Sophie after Tom had left. He never got up from his desk.
“Sophie, Sit.” Dr. Howard commanded. Sophie crouched down.
“I said ‘Sit’” Dr. Howard repeated. Confused, Sophie only stared at him. I tried to tell her to put her butt on the floor, but I could never tell whether she could hear me or not.
Dr. Howard stood up with a yard stick in his hand. He walked calmly across the room and said, “Sophie, Stand.”
Sophie stood.
“When I tell you to sit, I want you to sit on the floor, like this.” He said, and then plopped down onto his butt. “Do you understand?”
Sophie stared blankly at him. Dr. Howard stood back up and said, “Sophie, sit.”
Sophie crouched down again.
“NO!” Dr. Howard shouted. “I said Sit.” This time, he used the yard stick, WHACK onto Sophie’s butt.
Sophie winced, but didn’t move.
Dr. Howard used his left hand and pressed down on Sophie’s shoulders, forcing her butt to the ground. “This is ‘Sit’” he instructed.
“Sophie, Stand.” He repeated.
Sophie stood.
“Sophie, Sit.” He said again.
Again, Sophie crouched down. She was shaking nervously. Sophie was certain that this was sit.
Whack – Whack.
“Sit, I said. Sit!” Dr. Howard repeated.
It took several more tries before Sophie finally got this command down. By that time, whenever she did it correctly, I felt the burning pain from all of the paddling we received. Tom had returned at some point, but Dr. Howard was working with Sophie, so he didn’t interject. Finally, Dr. Howard instructed Tom to take Sophie out for a walk and then feed her.
When we returned to Dr. Howard’s office, he handed Tom a piece of paper with a list of commands on it. “Sophie needs to learn obedience.” He said. “Use the shocker until she gets each of these correct.”
“Yes, Doctor.” Tom said. He then led us away to another room. This looked like it was set up for some sort of physical therapy. There was a low padded table in one area, a rubber mat in another area and a couple of large exercise balls in the corner.
“Sophie, Stay.” Tom said and then he unfastened the collar from my neck. He walked across the room, dropping the collar with the leash still attached onto the low padded table. Tom then returned with a different collar. This was a bit thicker and had a large black rectangle attached.
“Sophie, sit.” Tom said.
Sophie sat.
“Sophie, lay down.” He said.
She didn’t know this command. Tom demonstrated lying down, and then got up and repeated the command. Again, Sophie stared at him blankly.
I suddenly noticed Tom holding a small black remote control. He pressed the button and…. Pain. It was excruciating, starting at my jaw and penetrating all the way to my knees. Sophie tried to scream, but no sound came out while the shocker was active. As fast as it had started, it stopped. “Sophie, lie down.” Tom repeated.
Tears began streaming down Sophie’s cheeks. She didn’t know what he wanted her to do. I heard Tom sigh before the pain started again. This continued for the rest of the day. After a while, I discovered that I could shut it all out. I really didn’t want to leave Sophie to endure this alone, but I couldn’t stand the pain over and over again.
I sort of pushed Sophie out of my mind, but with her in control, it was more like I pushed myself out of her mind. I was still observing the situation, but from a distance. Sophie was a very slow learner. Mostly this was because they were teaching her to do things differently than Tabitha and Heidi had taught her. So she needed to unlearn the old commands before complying with the new ones.
The next several weeks were a bit of a blur, as Sophie spent so many days learning commands, and being disciplined when she failed. They were training her harshly, I kept myself out of Sophie’s head for days at a time. It got to the point that I was beginning to have a hard time bringing myself back to where I could even feel anything she was experiencing.
I think, had it lasted any longer, I would have chosen to stay disconnected and it would have just been Sophie for the rest of my life. But eventually, Dr. Crowe came and picked us up. It wasn’t until I heard her voice that I had the will to force myself back into Sophie’s head and reconnect with reality.
Tom was still holding Sophie’s leash. Dr. Crowe was standing in front of me and Sophie was crouched down, so Dr. Crowe could stroke he head as she spoke with Dr. Howard.
“I’m sorry, Sheila. I couldn’t do more with her. She is quite obedient now, but I could not get her trained to behave like a girl.” Dr. Howard said.
“Well, I appreciate you for trying.” Dr. Crowe told him. “I do hope it wasn’t too much bother for you.”
“Trouble? Oh no. I have never seen anyone with such a committed fursona, as young Sophie here.” Dr. Howard said.
“Fursona?” Dr. Crowe asked.
“It’s a new phenomenon that is plaguing some of our schools. Kids self-identify as a cat or some such. Originally they thought it an offshoot of the furry lifestyle, but there seems to be no direct connection.” Dr. Howard reasoned. “This is my first glimpse in real life at one of these patients. I took a lot of great notes.”
“Interesting. May I have a copy of your notes?” Dr. Crowe requested.
“Sure, I’ll send them over when I finish compiling them.” Dr. Howard agreed. “I wish I could have a few more weeks to observe Sophie.” Dr. Howard said.
“I know. School starts next week, and I need to get Sophie acclimated to my home again, plus there are a few logistics I need to work out if she is going to be release into the public.” Dr. Crowe said.
Tom then handed the leash to Dr. Crowe and after saying their goodbyes, we left the facility for the last time.

More Therapy - Chapter 14Who else thinks we should be allowed to bring our dogs to school? - found on Pinterest
It was mid-morning when we walked out of the facility. This was the first time in weeks that I had felt sunlight on my skin. I can’t say that Sophie cared about the warmth of the sun as much as she was absolutely giddy to be walking out with Dr. Crowe and away from Dr. Howard and worst of all, Tom.
They had stopped using the shock collar a while back, but there had been other devices that they used to discipline Sophie. Much of my memory of that period is a bit vague, as I had spent so much time outside of my head that I can only summon a few still images of some events that traumatized Sophie.
The worst of these was when Sophie would start to go nuts from all of the training. They didn’t want her to hurt herself, so they put her in a straight-jacket. Restraints in general were traumatizing for her, but the jacket was by far the cruelest. She hated wearing clothes to begin with, and this just cemented in her head that clothing was a punishment.
Suddenly, I felt the collar tug hard against Sophie’s neck. She had just tried running, but Dr. Crowe had had a firm grip on the leash.
“Annie!” I heard Josh yell from the corner of the block. I suddenly realized that Sophie had noticed him and instinctively tried to go running up to greet her friend.
Dr. Crowe casually walked us toward him, and Josh met us in the middle. “Josh, you remember Sophie.”
“Oh, right.” He said to her and petted Sophie’s head.
“Here.” Dr. Crowe said, handing the leash to Josh. “You can walk her for a while.”
Josh’s face broke into a huge grin. “Let’s go Sophie.” Josh said as the three of us walked down the sidewalk back toward Dr. Crowe’s house.
“Are you sure you’ll be able to manage her at school, Josh?” Dr. Crowe asked as we walked.
“Oh, she’s no problem for me.” Josh assured her. “I’m not sure what the other kids will think, but I can definitely keep an eye on her for you.”
“Good. The teachers will make sure she is safe. I just need someone to walk her to school and home, plus keep an eye on her so she doesn’t get into too much mischief.” Dr. Crowe said.
“What about her classes?” Josh asked. “She’s two grades above me.”
“Yea, I’m still working that out. I was hoping she would be able to attend her school like normal, but her condition has changed since I last spoke with the principal. Don’t worry, I have another idea that should be acceptable for everyone.” Dr. Crowe said.
Suddenly, Sophie stopped. Josh tried tugging, but she refused to budge. Instead, she stood there and tapped her foot once. I remembered this from her training. Sophie was taught to tap once if she had to pee and twice if she had to poop. I was glad it is only 1 tap.
Dr. Crowe stared at her for a second before her look of confusion was replaced by one of understanding. “Dr. Howard had taught her to communicate a few things.” Dr. Crowe explained. “If she taps her foot once, she needs to pee. If she taps twice, well. You get it, number 1 and number 2.”
“Oh…” Josh said. “Eww! What do I need to do?”
“Well, it’s only one tap, so go over to that bush and let her do her business.” Dr. Crowe said. “They had trained her to use a litter box when she was inside. Hopefully, any dirt will work for her when we are out here.”
Josh walked Sophie over to the side of the road where a few bushes lined the sidewalk. She look at the bush nervously. Obviously, she didn’t want to get into trouble again.
“It’s okay, Sophie. You can pee here.” Josh told her reassuringly.
Still hesitant, Sophie crouched down and released her bladder. I forced myself a little further into her consciousness. I could feel the pressure on my bladder being relieved. It felt good.
The more I became aware of myself, the more I also became aware of my surroundings. There was a good deal of traffic on this street. Most of the card that drove past honked their horns at me. Some of the young men even hooted as they drove by. Sophie didn’t seem aware of this, but for the first time in a long while, I was aware that I was walking down a public street bare-naked.
Josh was keenly aware, though the honking and hooting seemed to bother him more than it did me. He was being protective, I realized. Dr. Crowe didn’t seem to notice or care.
We made it back to Dr. Crowe’s house, Josh kept hold of the leash as he followed me inside.
“Sophie, sit.” Dr. Crowe said casually when we got into the house. Sophie sat on the floor. Dr. Crowe unfastened the leash and hung it on the wall.
“Please watch her for a minute.” Dr. Crowe told Josh before walking into her office.
“Annie,” Josh whispered. “How much longer are you going to do this for?”
Sophie stared blankly at him. She was well aware of who Annie was, but she had no way of answering her question, even if she knew what to tell him.
“It’s okay.” Josh said cheerfully. “I’ll always be your friend, even if you can’t talk to me.”
Josh started petting Sophie. First on her head, then he gently stroked her back. He crouched down next to her and said “Lie forward.”
Sophie instinctively leaned forward, arms streatched forward and chest on the ground. She was lying face down, but on her knees. This raised her butt up into the air.
Josh didn’t say anything, he just stared at Sophie. He slowly walked around behind me. I couldn’t see what he was up to, but his breathing had changed.
“Josh!” Dr. Crowe said as she walked in on us. “What are you doing?”
“I, um…” Josh said.
“How did you get her to lay like that?” She asked.
“I just said, ‘lie forward’” Josh said.
Dr. Crowe looked through the list. “Here.” She said handing it to him. “These are the commands she was taught. ‘lie forward’ isn’t on here.”
Josh studied the list for a minute. “What does that mean?” he asked.
“Well, a dog can only do what you teach it. Sophie, of course is not a dog. But she was very strictly disciplined. She should not have done any commands that she wasn’t taught. How did she know this command?”
“I dunno.” Josh conceded. “Maybe they taught it to her and just didn’t write it down.”
“I don’t think so. I think Annie is still in there, and Sophie remembers what words me through that connection.” Dr. Crowe said. “I want you to go through these commands with Sophie and learn how to lead her. School starts in a week, so I really need you to work with her as much as you can until she reacts to whatever you tell her.”
“Really?” Josh asked. “Anything?”
“Anything on this list.” Dr. Crowe corrected.
Josh nodded. “What about this?” He pointed down at Sophie, butt still sticking up in the air. I could feel an ache in my back creeping in from holding that pose so long.
Dr. Crowe sighed. “Get a good look. I do not want you to show this to your friends at school. She’ll be molested for sure in this pose.”
“Yes, Dr. Crowe.” Josh acknowledged.
"How much time can you spend here training with Sophie?" Dr. Crowe asked.
"I wanna help, I really do." Said Josh. "But my mom might not let me spend so much time here. She's been working overtime just to afford her therapy sessions."
"Oh, I didn't realize that. She's Dr. Tamil's patient, right?"
Josh nodded.
"Let me speak with her. I think I can work something out for everyone." Dr. Crowe suggested.
"Thanks." Josh said skeptically. "I think I probably should head home now."

My apologies for the confusion. In case you missed my earlier message, I ended up rewriting chapter 13 from scratch. If you have been following this story, and have not read chapter 13 since I updated it on April 20th, please read that before chapter 14.
Thanks for your understanding.

Re: Extreme Therapy - Book 1 Complete Book 2 Chapter 15 Posted 4-26-2024
More Therapy – Chapter 15“After awhile you could get used to anything.” ― Albert Camus, The Stranger
After Josh had left, Dr. Crowe took Sophie into the kitchen and commanded. “Sophie, sit.”
Sophie sat on the linoleum floor. It felt cold on my butt, but Sophie didn’t seem to notice.
“I need to introduce you to someone.” Dr. Crowe said, suddenly smiling.
Sophie responded by shaking her butt on the floor. She really liked meeting new people.
Turning, Dr. Crowe called, “Chloe, come in here! Come meet your new sister!”
Suddenly, there was a flourish of tapping from the pitter-patter of four little paws as a new dog came scrambling into the kitchen. Chloe was a small brown cocker spaniel. She looked to be about a year old and was full of puppy energy. So was Sophie, who was suddenly excited to have another dog to play with.
As Chloe approached, she didn’t seem to know what to make of Sophie. She walked up to the other side of Dr. Crowe and didn’t approach Sophie at first. “It’s okay, Chloe. Sophie, come.”
Sophie got onto her hands and knees and proceeded to crawl toward Dr. Crowe. Somehow, Sophie had figured out dog etiquette. She moved closer to Chloe, who nervously stood still as Sophie approached. I could only watch in horror as Sophie bent down and stuck her nose into Chloe’s butt hole. Even spending so much time in Sophie’s head, I have no idea why dogs do that.
For her part, Chloe took the clue and did the same thing back. Her nose was really cold on my bare bottom. Suddenly, Sophie wanted to play. She began rough-housing with Chloe, who was all of a sudden comfortable with her new friend.
“Down, both of you!” Dr. Crowe screamed. “Not in the house.”
Weeks of training at the facility created a triggered response in Sophie. She immediately stopped and lay down, trembling for what she was expecting to happen next. No beatings came, instead, Dr. Crowe petted Sophie. “Good girl. I’ll take you two to the park later to play.”
Chloe was not so well trained and continued to want to play, but she did eventually calm down when she realized that Sophie was no longer reciprocating.
“Are you hungry?” Dr. Crowe asked. Both dogs seemed to know what those words meant. Scrambling back to her knees, Sophie showed how eager she was to get something into her belly. Dr Crowe walked the dogs to the counter where she produced two bowls, a small one for Chloe and a larger one for Sophie.
I didn’t recognize the brand, but she poured the same dog food into both bowls and set them down in front of each dog. “Here, Sophie, this bowl is yours.”
Sophie had gotten used to eating dog food at the facility, after Tom decided that she was no longer being trained to be a person, so she didn’t need people-food anymore. Chloe decided that it wasn’t fair that Sophie had a bigger bowl, and tried sticking her face in with Sophie.
“Grrrrrrr-rrrrr-raauff” Sophie barked. Chloe scrambled back, with just a few kibbles swiped from Sophie’s bowl. Sophie kept eating and after a couple of more tries, Chloe took the hint and stopped trying to share a bowl with Sophie.
While they were eating, Dr. Crowe had set down another large bowl filled with water. “Sorry, girls. I only have this one bowl. You two need to share.”
Chloe and Sophie took turns getting quick drinks out of the bowl. To me, this was even worse than sniffing Chloe’s butt. But again, Sophie seemed to think it was normal. Dr. Crowe left us in the kitchen. I heard her voice, clearly speaking to someone on the phone. I didn’t make out what she was saying, but when she returned she announced that Josh would be back in the morning for training.
After that, Dr. Crowe ate her dinner and took us for a walk afterward. Chloe was a lot more fussy about where to go to the bathroom. Sophie was okay doing it just about anywhere, but Chloe wanted to wander around sniffing for just the right spot. I really hoped that Sophie didn’t start picking up that habit from Chloe, or our nightly walks were going to last a long time.
We got back to the house and Dr. Crowe brought us upstairs. She locked us in her room. There were now two doggie beds sitting next to each other at the foot of Dr. Crowe’s bed. Chloe immediately went onto the larger one and laid down for a nap. The other one was far too small for my teenage body, but Sophie tried curling up on it anyway. It wasn’t very comfortable, and one of my legs was resting on the shag carpet.
I heard the bath water running. Sophie tried napping, but couldn’t keep her balance on the little bed she was laying on. After several minutes, Dr. Crowe came back in. “Bath time girls!” She announced.
For some dogs, that is a call to run away. For Sophie and Chloe, however, it turned into a race to see who could get into the water first. Chloe won, but not by as much as I would have thought. Dr. Crowe found it funny to see her two ‘dogs’ in the bath together, but after a brief chuckle said, “Well alright. You two want to bathe together, I am good with that.”
Normally, Sophie would stand up and let Dr. Crowe use the handheld shower nozzle to wash her, but with Chloe completely immersed in the water, Sophie decided she wanted to try a bath instead. Sitting down as far as she could, only my shoulders and head were above the waterline. She also managed to dunk my hair completely into the bath water.
“Good girl!” Dr. Crowe told Sophie with glee. “You are so good now.”
Dr. Crowe had a special water brush to wash Chloe, and a soft sponge to wash Sophie. For some reason, she used the same soap for both of us, which left me smelling a bit like chemicals.
After washing Chloe, she said, “Sophie, stay.” Next, she pulled Chloe out of the tub and dried her off.
Dr. Crowe let the water drain out of the tub, she then rubbed some shampoo into my hair before rinsing it out. She repeated that with conditioner before toweling me off and taking us back to the bedroom.
Again, Chloe tried claiming the big bed, but Dr. Crowe corrected her and led Sophie there instead. This one only felt comfortable in comparison to the little bed, but to be honest, it didn’t matter how uncomfortable the bed was, we were home for the first time in I don’t know how long.
Dr. Crowe looked down at herself, “Look at this. Now I need a bath! I think starting tomorrow, washing you two will be Josh’s job.”
After that, Dr. Crowe left and shut off the lights. I heard the shower running a few minutes later, but Sophie fell asleep well before she finished. When we woke the next morning, Dr. Crowe was asleep in her own bed.
