Unexpected beach encounter

When you see them again it can be uncomfortable. For a while I felt weird around my best friend's mother after she had seen me full-frontal naked as I struggled to untie the drawstring of my scout swimsuit. Made worse, I think, by her making casual chit-chat about camp while eyeing my penis only a few feet away from her (and a few others).

You had a specific swimsuit for scouting?

Yes, we did. The swimsuit was red with the BSA logo on the side and rather form-fitting (with no inner liner). First time I wore it was at a Scout swim night held at a local pool (prior to summer camp). At 14 I felt self-conscious about walking out of the pool's Lockeroom in that tight swimsuit with various families watching us from the bleachers. Even my relatively modest male endowment clearly showed a prominent bulge in the front. Of course it was the same with the other guys. Whatever material those swimsuits were made of was really clingy.

No inner liner?! No wonder they were clingy. Although, if they weren't clingy I would think there would be a lot of rubbing against the fabric which would bring its own issues...

Yeah, my worst fear was getting a stiffy in that swimsuit. Started to happen once and I quickly jumped back into the pool.

There is a store in our town that sells "official BSA equipment" which included the swimsuits. Our troop's Scoutmaster urged us all to get one and of course my parents were enthusiastic about this sort of thing. I mean, the swimsuit covered more than a speedo would have but it was still nothing like a boardshort. Mom bought the swimsuit for me one afternoon and that night my father insisted on me trying it on and modeling for the family. That was fun accompanied by laughing cackles from my sister.

My Dad, who was a teenager in the 1960s, never got tired of regaling us with stories of him swimming nude at the YMCA (a practice that pretty much ended by the early 1970s). So, I got no sympathy from him when I complained about the revealing nature of the Scout swimsuit.

For our anniversary, my husband surprised me with a trip to France. It was fantastic, we decided that we'd spend the 2nd week on the beach at Cannes and Nice. The first day in Cannes, I was sunning topless on the beach and I hear a voice say "hi Mrs Clearwater".

I looked up though my sunglasses and see Steve one of the 6th graders in my most recent class, followed by his parents. I immediately did a handbra to maintain some dignity. Steve's parents walked up, mom topless. She apologized for the intrusion, she said the family is used to nudity, but Steve was adamant to go see his favorite teacher. Steve wasn't staring or making me feel uncomfortable, so I relaxed. Mom also said she''ll explain discretion to Steve.

Steve was a gentleman, I saw him at school the next year, he'd wave or chat and I never heard a word about being topless.

To be fair though, if he said he met their teacher topless in a beach in France.... How many of his classmates were likely to believe him?
