I conceive of the track coach as being somewhat bored and disinterested in whatever the boys are doing in the post-run gang showers. Since there is some truth to this otherwise fictionalized story, I am picturing the layout of the Lockeroom as the coach being unable to see into the shower area from his office. That's how it was when I was on the track team in high school. Our coach was in his mid-50s at the time and seemed like he was just riding out the years until he could retire. Consequently, he rarely checked up on us while we were showering.

Coach never really was aware (or really wanted to know) what David Perkins and the rest of us got up to in there...

I don’t think it matters what the male coach thinks.
I feel the broad consensus here is that adult males’ involvement in these kinds of stories is best left to the minimum.

Exactly why I themed it that the coach merely drops off his Lesson Plans in Principal Carter's office, makes a crude remark, then abruptly leaves. Our actual coach would probably have reacted in a similar manner if this scenario had taken place in real life. His wife, my junior year English teacher, would have been much more interested in my nudity.

As I detailed in a 'True Stories' post, she actually did see David Perkins and myself nude in the Lockeroom.

I loved it but I was hoping for a reaction from 9 year old Sally to seeing a 16 year old boy stark naked. Maybe there will be more interaction when he does the lawn cutting next time.

9 year old Sally must have been extremely confused/excited seeing a naked boy like that!

It's based on an article I read in a medical ethics journal concerning a lawsuit filed by the parents of a 13-year-old Westchester County (New York) middle school student against both the school and a social worker. We get this journal where I work since certain imaging procedures we perform require the removal of some patient clothing.

The social worker showed up at the school regarding an abuse allegation against his parents, which turned out to be entirely false. In the presence of the school nurse, a school secretary, and an unknown woman accompanying the social worker, the boy was made to strip naked in the principal's office. This was purportedly to examine him for any signs of physical injury or abuse.

The boy was very embarrassed but complied. When he told his parents what had occurred, they were justifiably upset. They hired a lawyer, won the case, and received a substantial damage award as a result.
