🎲❤️ Dice Dare 2026 - The Legacy Found - The School Board Game Club

Post by SDS »

Dedicated to my two biggest fans of this series who have many times requested sequels. Dublinjohn somehow you found my email years and asked me to move these over here, your encouragement has always been welcome and makes writing a joy. AND to DrWhoFanJ the person who had memorized the story ID from my old dice dare stories from GetDare (and used this as Pin numbers haha) it's thanks to you I was able to track down my lost stories. Sadly some of them are still incomplete but hopefully this makes up for it. And of course! To all my other readers, fans, critics and fellow rights thanks for the community you are all amazing.
Dice Dare 2026 - The Legacy Found - The School Board Game Club

Chapter 1 - Saving the club - Introduction

The radiator in Room 4B hissed, a lonely sound that filled the gap between the pitter-patter of June rain against the windows. The classroom smelled of stale whiteboard markers and damp wool.

Oliver moved his wooden settlement across the board with a trembling finger. He didn't look at the board; he looked at Poppy. She was hunched over her side of the table, her slightly too big blazer swallowing her small frame. She looked especially small today. He hated seeing her so down but pressed on trying to force the joy of the game against their sadness.

"I could trade you two sheep for a brick," Oliver offered softly.

Poppy didn't look up. She was fiddling with her glasses pushing them back up the bridge of her nose, a nervous habit of hers he knew well. "It doesn't matter, Ollie. Mr. Finch said if we don't get at least five members by the end of the week, he’s shutting us down and handing the room over to the Debating Society."

Oliver let out a long, ragged sigh, leaning back in the plastic chair that creaked under his weight. "It’s just us. It’s always just been us. Since Year 7, I’m sure we can still find somewhere to play." he tried to reassure her but knew only official clubs were allowed to use classrooms during breaks at school.

It was extra important for them as he knew Poppy had a busy schedule with her family and she had very little time to enjoy herself outside of school. If their ‘club’ was shut down her mum would probably find some other music related activity for her to do he’d see his best friend even less. He was lost in thought when she responded.

"Year 7? The girls in the locker room have been calling me a 'Year 7' again this week" Poppy whispered, finally meeting his eyes. She blushed, her brown eyes looked huge behind her lenses, shimmering with a threat of tears she refused to let fall. "They asked if I was lost and needed someone to find my mummy."

Oliver felt a familiar flare of heat in his chest—a mix of protective rage and the awkward, fluttering knot he always got when Poppy looked at him for too long. "They're idiots, Pop. They wouldn't know a Longest Road strategy if it hit them in the face."

Poppy gave a small laugh "Thanks, Ollie." Amused and distracted by how cheesy and geeky that was. He always knew just the right things to say to her.

The door to the classroom swung open with a violent thwack against the rubber stopper. Both of them jumped, Oliver nearly knocking over the box of resource cards.

In walked Mr. Sterling, the new History tutor who looked like he’d graduated about five minutes ago and was still trying to prove he was "cool." He was followed by a trio that looked like they’d been dragged there by an invisible leash.

Sienna led the pack, looking at the dusty bookshelves with an expression of pure physical pain. Behind her was Callum, who was busy trying to catch his reflection in the glass of a cupboard to fix his rigid hair. Bringing up the rear was Immy, who was already picking up a loose dice from the side and spinning it across her hand, her eyes darting around the room like a caged bird too full of energy.

"Right then!" Mr. Sterling announced, clapping his hands together. The sound echoed off the empty desks. "Oliver, Poppy—meet your new recruits. They’ve decided that instead of spending their after school detentions for the 'fire alarm incident,' they’d much rather contribute to the school's extracurricular culture."

Sienna scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest. "I said I’d rather do the detention."

"And I said," Mr. Sterling replied with a sharp, knowing grin, "that this looks much better on a reference for your Sixth Form applications than 'chronic troublemaker.' Sit. Play. Behave."

The tutor also hoped the students would be good for each other in other ways.

As Mr. Sterling retreated, leaving a heavy, awkward silence in his wake, the three "cool" kids stared at the two "geeks."

Immy wandered over to the table, poking a wooden settlement with a chipped fingernail. She had no reservation and always acted like she could belong anywhere. "What’s this then? Is it like... Monopoly for people who actually like maths?"

Oliver cleared his throat, his voice cracking slightly. "It’s... it’s a strategy game.."

Callum sat down heavily in a chair, backwards, like he was in a 90s movie. "We're only here so we don't get excluded, mate. Don't expect us to actually play."

Poppy looked at them, then at Oliver. The club was saved, but looking at Sienna’s judgmental pout and Callum’s I’m too cool for this sneer, she wondered if they hadn't just invited the enemy inside the gates.

Fifteen minutes later, the atmosphere in Room 4B was as thick as the school’s lumpy custard.

Oliver had tried to explain the resource-gathering mechanics of Catan, but he’d lost Callum the moment he mentioned "trading sheep for ore." Callum was currently slumped so low in his plastic chair he was practically sitting on the floor, his structural hair gel grazing the underside of the table. Sienna was staring out the window, her expression one of someone waiting for a bus that was already three hours late.

Only Immy was moving. She was a blur of neon hair clips and jangling bracelets as she rummaged through the "Board Game Graveyard"—a dusty cupboard at the back of the room filled with boxes missing half their pieces. Slightly bent over, she looked over her shoulder a few times to see if either of the boys was peaking at her bottom, she wore her pleated uniform skirt daringly short and liked the attention it attracted. Annoying Callum was too bored and Oliver only seemed to have eyes for his little friend Poppy. That in itself was a surprise as she was as curvy as an ironing board and as plain as toast without butter.

"Ugh, these are all so boring," Immy groaned, tossing a lidless box of Ludo aside. "It’s all just... moving bits of wood around. Where’s the risk? Where’s the drama?"

"We mostly have classic kids games or strategy ones like this, Imogen" Poppy said, her voice small. She was trying to organize her cards, but her hands were shaking from the pressure of hosting strangers. She knew they were failing to impress the new recruits. If they walked out now, the club was dead by Friday.

"Wait." Immy’s eyes lit up. She reached into the very back, behind a stack of tattered encyclopedias, and pulled out a box that looked like it had survived a war.

The cardboard was battered and peeling at the corners. The graphics were aggressively early-2000s neon green and purple. Across the front, in bubbly letters, it read: DARE YOU! Below the title, three nine-year-olds with gap-toothed grins were shown pulling "crazy" faces. A bright yellow starburst on the cover promised: "Can YOU make a realistic fart sound?"

Sienna walked over glancing at the game, one eyebrow arched in judgment. "A game for literal babies? Seriously, Immy?"

"No, look," Immy said, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. She hopped back to the table, dropping the box onto the map of Catan. "Someone’s messed with it."

As she pried the lid off, a laminated sheet of lined A4 paper fluttered out. It was covered in printed instruction, titled: DICE DARE - THE REVISED RULES (VERSION 2.0) - 25 spaces to heaven the Board game

Underneath the paper, the original plastic pieces had been replaced. Instead of the colorful kids' counters, there were fancy new shiny dice and wooden meeples stolen from another game. There was also a pack of cards, they were the novelty kind with women in underwear doing different suggestive poses.

Oliver leaned in intrigued. "Either Someone at school must have modified this or it was donated accidentally. Look at the date on the corner—2015. That’s over ten years ago."

Immy snatched up the laminated sheet. “Draw a Jack - get spanked by the other players”. She read from a list of dares.

Callum actually sat up. His eyes darted to the door. "Wait, for real? No way people actually did that?"

"There’s a full forfeit list including how much clothes you have to take off," Immy continued, her voice gaining excitement..

Sienna shifted, her 'mean girl' mask slipping for a second as curiosity took over. "Let me see that." She took the list, flicking through them. Her eyes landed on one and she actually blushed’ That’s... actually kind of funny."

Poppy looked at Oliver. She saw the worry in his eyes—the fear of breaking rules, of making a fool of himself. But she also saw the way Callum was finally looking at them, not as nerds, but as potential accomplices.

"If we play," Poppy said, her voice surprisingly steady, "do you three promise to stay? To actually be members of the club?"

Immy was already looking through the rules on the back giggling to herself her earlier boredom turned to naughty joy.

Callum looked at the game then at Sienna, imagining the blond showing her lovely curves. He gave a sharp, cocky nod. "Fine. If you geeks have the guts to actually play a game that involves more than counting sheep, I’m in."

Sienna just rolled her eyes “Nothing better for me to do is there”

Poppy turned to Oliver, the lanky lad blushed at her suddenly hopeful expression. “Are you really sure about this pops?” He said knowing how much of a body image his dear friend had and how the ridicule of making a fool of herself would break her spirit again. She nodded.

“Ok but it’s got to be between us five. What happens in the board game club stays in the board game club” declared Oliver

The cool kids just laughed at this lame speech but nodded.

Immy slammed the fancy dice onto the board. "Right then. Who’s going first?"

“We do need to read the rules first” Said Poppy sighning. This could be a massive mistake.

I don't know whether I'm more happy about the mention or the new story and the throwback to the unfinished story from the getdare board, Dicedares 2015.

Actually when I saw the name poppy, my mind flashed back to game two originally.

Thank you so much for returning to this

Rules

25 spaces to heaven - is a simple board game that can be found from a mysterious creator online. There is a 25 space board and players are racing to the end. At the start of each turn each player rolls a 6 sided dice and moves their piece that many spaces forward.

Once a round is over a player is then chosen at random by way of lowest card to draw a dare that they need to do. If they fail to do the dare they get a penalty meaning they move 1 less each roll from now on during the game, if a player gets 4 penalties they automatically lose the game and are out. The game is played until all but one players have reached the finish line or a player drops out due to having 4 penalties. They are the loser.

If a player lands on another player or both draw the same lowest card at the end of a round they draw a dual dare instead. Any player dropping out of a duel dare must move back a dice roll instead of getting a normal penalty.

There are also special spaces every 5 spaces that are listed above. The last player to get to the finish or the first to lose draws three of each card for a dare and must do the highest, making it a good probability of something very humiliating at the end. A player can’t skip the final dare and it’s recommended the group come up with some way to make sure this is followed.

Only moving because of your dice roll causes a chance or dual dare to happen. If you are moved onto a space or player because of a penalty nothing extra happens you simply share the same space.

Turn 1 - A kiss and stupid promise

“Ok so it says to start we each choose a colour Meeple” started Poppy adjusting her glasses and starting her usual new game explanation. As she took on a familiar role her confience grew.

“What’s a Meeple?” Said Immy instantly picking up one of the small orange wooden player markers and trying to balance it ontop of another.

“That’s a Meeple” anded Oliver nervously.

“To continue, before each time the players start each game they should put their hand forward and optop of each other and swear to the other players saying. “This is a sacred game, it is a sign of our trust and friendship, anything that happens in this game stays between us and I must promise on everything that is important to me that I will complete the required losers dare”

“Lame” Sienna rolled her eyes.

“Shut it Barbie, I like it.” Laughed Immy putting her hand out to start the pile “This is our sacred game, it is a sign of trust and friendship, anything that happens in this game stays between us and I promise on my cats that I will complete the required losers dare, not that I will ose” The erratic girl laughed challengingly sticking out her tounge.

“This is a sacred game, it is a sign of our trust and friendship, anything that happens in this game stays between us and I must promise on everything that is important to me that I will complete the required losers dare” Said Poppy next reading it line for line and putting her hand on top of Imogen's.

Oliver placed his hand on top of Poppy’s third in the pile. “This is a sacred game, it is a sign of our trust and friendship, anything that happens in this game is private and I promise on everything that is important to me that I will complete the required losers dare” His palm sweated and he didn’t take his eyes off his friend as he recited the last part of his mantra. It felt so odd to almost hold her hand like this.

Callum slammed his hand down stinging the back of olivers and pushing down the growing tower of hards. Oliver gave a winse. “Fine, Fine, yes this game is important, I won’t tell no one and I will do the dare, swear on my life.” He laughed grinning.

“Well that wasn’t exactly ..." Poppy started “ …close enough I guess.” she finished sighing as Callum just grinned at her.

“Whatever Sienna signed, rolling her eyes again. This seemed her normal state of teenage everything is lame. “This is our sacred game, This is our secret and I’ll do the awful loser’s dare no matter how extreme, I swear on…” She paused her mask slipping for a second as she struggled to think of anything … “On me mum’s life” she finished using the often cliche line teens used when protesting their innocence to a crime.

Dice and card draw for turn.

Oliver - 3 Image Poppy - 1 Image Imogen - 4 Image Callum - 4 Image Sienna - 2 Image

The game started with quite low rolls. Imogen and Callum moved out in front rolling 4s, finding enthusiasm for the game cheering as they moved out in front.

“The rules say if you land on the same space you have to roll a dual dare” Said Poppy looking over the short double sided rules again. She couldn’t help a blush coming to her cheeks as she looked over the dares more closely. Popper Reached over turning over the top card of the deck for the two in the lead.

Image
4-7 - Both players kiss on lips

A 4 was turned over meaning the two had to kiss. “Could have at least been a proper snog” laughed Immy always something to say as she grinned at the other players. She leaned over lips and puckered for a kiss. Callum gave a silly grin and leaned in to return the kiss. Yes this game seemed a very good idea indeed for the lad who fancied himself a bit of a player, after this game he might actually live up to his exaggerated boasts. The kiss was brief and tender, Callum could taste the cherry of her chapstick and briefly felt the warmth of her lips, after an exacerbated kiss sound she pulled away grinning, twirling her curly brown hair and sat back down in the chair.
Sienna gave a little whoop of amusement while Olly and Poppy just stared silent at the kiss before subconsciously looking at the other. Both gave a little blush and looked away. Neither had actually had their first kiss yet and suddenly this game raised real questions and possibilities.

Once the kiss was over all players drew a card to decide who would have to draw a dare. In the end it was Sienna with a 5. She looked nervous for a moment but quickly covered it up, she was too self assured and confident (at least openly) to be flustered like these other silly players. She turned over her card.

Image
5 - Make a silly promise (an action that must be completed later in public, can't involve real public nudity or anything extreme)

The two players who has just kissed conferred, well Immy whisepered telling Callum the dare she had already thought of.

“You gotta turn up to Miss Moors history class tomorrow afternoon without your shoes or socks on. If she asks tell her you left them in your locker” The hyper girl giggled excitedly thinking it the funniest joke ever.

“Fine” said Sienna, rolling her eyes. She was more annoyed and actually embarrassed about turning up to class without her shoes and socks than she would let on.
