For the past several years, I have heard alternate names for male genitals on broadcast TV. Dick is used a lot and I have even heard cock being used on family shows. Even a cooking contest "Master Chef" on woman was cooking testicles and she was cutting them into pieces and Gordon asked her was she was making. As she was cutting the meat, she told Gordon that when she was cutting the balls up, she was imagining they were her ex husband's balls.

Another later on made a dish with a rooster and meatballs and said she was making a cock and ball dish.

Of course, we hear balls and nuts all the time on many family shows and we have even seen a family show where one woman had several husbands and she was visiting her sister when she said she came to divorce one of her husbands and the official divorce degree was for him to stand spread eagled and she kicked him hard in the testicles and she said that now that they were divorced, he did not need his nuts anymore.

Bottom line, it would appear society is getting use to alternate terms for male anatomy and even mild ball busting but they (thankfully) are holding firm on not doing that for women's anatomy other than using the term "boobs"

In grade school we said dick, though I remember in high school shifting to saying dong cause I had a classmate named Dick (Richard) at the time.

There is popular sweet pudding in the UK called spotted dick. I worked at a place once where in the canteen, it was called spotted richard.

Growing up I would hear ‘peepee’ and ‘willy’ most often, and I think those are my favourites. I would usually say peepee, as that what my parents would call it. My grandmother would call it a willy, though, and I had cousins who’d call theirs willy as well

When I was around 10 I found out my best friend called his a ‘winky’, from his mother. I always thought that was funny. At that age I was only using ‘penis’ because I thought it sounded more adult. Now that I’m actually an adult I actually find those childhood words to be really sweet, and I love learning what others called their genitals as kids

My parents, especially my Mom, were very uptight about this sort of thing. Maybe it was because they were born in the 1920's and THEIR parents were born in the 1890's.

I once heard my Dad use the euphemism "John Thomas" while my Mom would say "It", 'Down below" or "Down there ".

Calling it "your little guy" is rather cute. I think I might have liked having it called that when I was young. How old/developed were you when the transition to the proper term happened?

That's a really interesting angle I hadn't really thought about before, the idea of moms frequently using adjectives like "little" when talking about boys' penises. I mean, yes, when you're young your penis is objectively small(er) like the rest of your body. But I hadn't considered how that use of language could (un)intentionally set a boy up to worry about his size later on and possibly feed a future SPH kink.

She stopped calling it that when I started puberty. At the time I really didn’t care for the nickname but in retrospect I see that it was a term of endearment. I think you’re on to something with the idea of how mothers refer to son’s private parts can affect their self esteem later in life.
