Well, his pubis is clearly hairless so it’s not surprising that he’s only 11 years old. And a 12 year old Lisa is much different than 14 at that age. She probably got quite a thrill and it may have been her first time seeing a completely naked boy.

The scene was not in the script when the boy took the part and he was quite shocked when told he would have to take off his clothes in front of the young actress who plays his sister in the movie and also in front of Shirley MacLaine with both females fully clothed while he stripped naked. He not only stripped naked in front of the female actresses but also the entire crew filming the scene and he said years later that it was embarrassing and traumatic.

I'd never heard of this movie before.

It's a weirdly intense scene between the music and the antagonist being frightening and unpredictable, and the scene is shot with what look like fairly long takes that were intercut in editing so he had to expose himself in front of multiple cast members. There's nothing to suggest this was a couple of establishing shots that lasted a few seconds and the rest was shot with a pair of speedos pulled low or anything like that. He's naked the whole time.

He seems relieved when he can hold his clothes in front of him and he's quite hesitant to fling them away.

You can tell that's genuine embarrassment on his face.

Agreed that it's a very genuine performance. I wonder if all the rehearsals were done with him wearing shorts or underwear, making the take the first time he really had to let people see him. I suspect as much given how embarrassed he seems.

I was (and still am) a grow-er and not a show-er -- and I was a late bloomer to boot. So his body proportions, size, lack of hair, and state of development feel very familiar -- if there was a nude photo of me at that age I would look just like him only ~10 pounds heavier. And although I would have just started getting involuntary erections at his age I wouldn't get hair until around my 13th birthday. When I looked in my briefs, what I saw was very much a thumb-sized "little boy peepee" until I was close to 14.

Yes, he does have a small penis especially when you consider that he seems to have an erection. When he turns, as you noticed, it sticks out from his body possibly no more than a couple of inches at most. I suppose it’s common for some boys to get an erection when their naked and embarrassed in front of girls or so I’ve heard.

When it was very cold out or I was embarrassed about my body at that age I would frequently get what I'd describe as a pseudo-erection from the confused mix of feelings and sensations. My head would retract (shrinkage!), but at the same time my shaft would swell up. The result would be a fairly thick (for that age!) stubby nub that completely enveloped the glans. When he turns after closing the glass door what we see fits that description pretty well.

He went on to explain that the table scene was not in the original script when he took the movie. During the last two weeks of shooting, they rewrote the scene so that he would have to dance naked on the table. He said, "My mother, who was supposed to be my guardian, was like 'Sure, fine, whatever.'"

I'm really curious what prompted the rewrite and why it was felt he needed to be naked (as he is very much naked as opposed to nude) in the scene, and also why it was such a late addition.

The dialog has the antagonist taunting the kid about never having been cold as he strips. I didn't watch the whole movie so maybe that refers to an earlier scene. But on its own it suggests he thinks the boy has been pampered or coddled, which in turn suggests that pseudo-erection I think he had may have been the desired outcome as a way of taking the boy down a peg or two in the story.

I don't think all boys' penises necessarily behave quite the same way though. So if that's what they were going for it would in turn suggests there was a chance encounter with someone involved in the production who saw him naked during the shoot (presumably in his trailer after a shower or something?) and decided to work it into the story, which raises even more questions!

In my opinion, what they did to this child was seriously messed up.

What really bothers me is when people talk about things like this, and they say "Well, it was a different time then," as if that makes it OKAY.
