In the 1985 Australian thriller Fortress starring Rachel Ward, there’s a memorable cave escape sequence with some genuine awkwardness and embarrassment.

At 33:26 the female teacher strips down to just her plain white cotton panties in front of the young teenage boy to swim through the cavern and check if there’s a way out. He looks away awkwardly.

Then at 38:40, the teacher and the whole class strip down to their underwear for the group swim through the underwater tunnel. The teenage girl is wearing plain white cotton high-cut panties (typical 80s style). She starts to remove her t-shirt but is visibly relieved when the teacher keeps her bra on, so she decides to leave her t-shirt on too. The boy is wearing red briefs.

There’s genuine embarrassment throughout, especially from the shy older teenage girl. The teacher notices her discomfort and keeps her bra on out of consideration for her. The boy is also clearly awkward during the first part.

Yes, I believe they open the dam doors and start draining the water, putting the girls on a timer since if it drains fully they'll be stuck naked in front of the crowd.

I believe eventually the girls agree to whatever is being demanded and nothing is shown, only shoulders and some cleavage at most. After they agree they get away without any further embarassment.

This one is particularly cute. I bet they'd shoot it differently these days. That scene feels really raw and dramatic, so much so I had to re-watch it to fully enjoy the view as well.

Nick Nolte and Julia Roberts play competing reporters who at one point end up hiking in a forest, during which Roberts insultingly dismisses Nolte's latest book and insists she hasn't read it. The next morning he catches her skinny dipping. He turns away while she gets out of the water, but before she can get dressed behind him a group of boy scouts and their leader emerge from the bushes. Suddenly he's the only thing keeping her from being revealed completely naked, and he takes full advantage of the situation. He starts walking jovially toward the scouts, smirking while she panics and follows behind him begging him not to expose her. Then he leans over his shoulder and gets her to admit she was lying when she claimed she hadn't read his book. By the time he's done he has her right in front of the scouts. Then, grinning, he turns to them and says "Hey, I have a great idea: Does anybody have a camera?" Finally he triumphantly steps away, leaving her wet and stark naked for everyone to see, and she gasps in total embarrassment with absolutely nothing to cover herself as the scouts gleefully start taking pictures from every angle

When her dress gets caught in the car hood, Russell realizes he has a golden opportunity, and smugly suggests "Let's take a look under the hood, shall we?," before pressing the release to suddenly lift the hood of the car. Rixon's dress is instantly torn off, exposing her almost completely naked on live national television, aside from her very skimpy panties. She immediately starts shrieking and squirming in embarrassment, which Russell and his team completely ignore as the cameramen zoom in to make sure late-night viewers see absolutely everything

The underwear situation is oddly interesting. The two younger boys have the same type of briefs, the two younger girls have the same type of panties. But the different ages all have different cuts, noting particularly the one older boy in the low-cut red briefs. It's an odd grouping that way.

Also, note that the boys are all wearing colors but all the girls are in white.
