I think it depends on a lot of things, but I think it depends on mood too.
If there are other people present, I think it's always more embarassing having to strip because being stripped doesn't really give you much choice, it just happens. If that makes any sense.

I remember when I was younger and when I got in trouble I would have to strip. I think it was more embarassing to be forcibly stripped. i hated it, but as I look back on it, it turns me on to think about it happening.

Having been stripped completely naked and having been told to strip, I can say categorically that being stripped is a lot more embarrassing.

My formative CFNM experience was being stripped for a bath by my mother's cousin when I was 9. I had been bathing myself for 3 years at that point, and I had no idea that having someone strip me and bathe me was an option. It was quite an experience that I still think back to.

Having to do it yourself is worse for sure. If it’s done for you it’s over quick with little thinking.

I concur. That does seem to be the prevailing consensus, and—as Hooked6 pointed out—it’s borne out by history.
A CFNM scenario I particularly enjoy is one in which the female removes the clothing from an unwilling male, but without using
physical force. Instead, she holds leverage over him—compromising photos, knowledge of a misdeed, or something similar—and she orders him to stand still and offer no resistance while she strips him naked, ideally with others present. In that moment, not only is he not in control, but the process can be drawn out slowly and deliberately, allowing the humiliation to build deliciously with each removed garment.
Of course, this scene can also be quite enjoyable if it involves CMNF, CFNF or CMNM, depending on your preference.

I voted for "Being ordered to strip is more embarassing"
I have no experiences with being forcibly stripped but was ordered a few times. I think this is more embarrassing because of the power the adult (male or female) had over me as a boy.
