The Invisible Boy Part 2
“Ready?” Meryl asks as she and Jack pull into her friend, Talia’s driveway.
Jack tugs on the eye holes of the simple white sheet as Meryl puts the car in park.
Meryl didn’t see Jack put on the sheet or the ring, so she can’t help but ask him.
“Did you remember the ring?”
Jack nods.
She looks at his feet.
He has shoes on, but no socks.
“I know you don’t really want to be here, but just remember. You’re going to be invisible, so if you feel overwhelmed or just want to ‘disappear’, take off the sheet.” Meryl barely keeps a straight face.
“I’m gonna do it as a magic trick! Then no one will be able to find me all night!” Jack bounces excitedly.
Meryl has to cover her mouth to help keep from laughing.
“That’s- a great- idea.” She smiles.
She sends another group text.
“We’re here! All Jack has on is a sheet! He’s gonna ‘disappear’ as a magic trick! Remember, everyone needs to pretend he’s ACTUALLY invisible!”
She immediately recieves
as reactions.
All set!
Meryl and Jack get out of the car and walk to the front door.
The sheet billows a bit from behind as Meryl follows.
She can see his pale, skinny legs, but before his butt is uncovered, Jack tucks it down as he hops up the steps.
Meryl briefly has second thoughts.
This is starting to feel cruel.
After all, 4 of Jack’s classmates are here.

But before she can second guess any further, Jack speaks.
“Is everyone here?! I have a magic trick!” He says excitedly.
Talia grins.
“Yup! We’re all in the livingroom. I’ll go get Henna and the others! Just kick your shoes off by the door there.” She points.
They do.
She leads Jack and Meryl into the livingroom where they are greeted by 6 teenage girls.
Meryl’s classmates.

Meryl looks at Jack’s classmates.

Meryl just hopes they can keep up the ruse of pretending Jack is invisible.
Jack clears his throat.

All eyes are on him now.
Fiona feels her heart race!
When they’d been told to pretend Jack was invisible, she’d been a little confused.
But then, it was explained that he was going to be NAKED!

She picks up the other end of the sheet and examines it.
She then looks around the room, an astonished look on her face.
“Where’d he go?!” She gasps.
Meryl is thrilled!
The girls are playing along PERFECTLY!
Jack backs up slowly, still smiling like an idiot.
Meryl gasps.
Seeing the scene play out before her, the weight of the situation hits her fully.
Her 12 year old brother is completely naked in front of 4 of his classmates, as well as 6 of her own classmates!

Thinking quickly, Meryl takes initiative.

“JACK’S NAKED?!!” 13 year old Fiona gasps, feigning shock.
“Oh my gosh!” 12 year old Sally gasps.

“Careful! You might accidentally touch his weiner!” 13 year old Henna yells.
Everyone bursts into giggles as they pretend to look around the room.

Jack’s 4 classmates begin slowly spreading out around the room, reaching out as though feeling around in the dark.

Fiona is making wide, slow sweeps with her arms as she aims herself in Jack’s direction.
Backing up, Jack, who up to this point has shown impressive agility, tumbles over backwards as he trips on an ottoman.
Henna, Fiona, Sally and Christa lunge at the sound and movement of the ottoman.
Jack barely escapes being tackled as he stumbles to his feet!
He stands up, facing Fiona.

“Uh oh!” Talia winces, squeezing Meryl’s arm.
Sally, Henna and Christa also stand up next to Fiona.
Sally and Christa throw their hands over their mouths, while a big grin spreads across Henna’s face.
“Did they ruin it?!” Ingred hisses.
Fiona shakes her head and continues acting like she’s looking for Jack.
Sally, Henna and Christa follow along, but never take their smiling faces off Jack.
Jack turns to sneak around the older teens when Meryl sees what made his classmates almost give the game away.
