Yes, I agree with the comments about male versus female and the situation of danger versus functional.
but what's missing is who your audience is and who are collateral viewers.
A girlfriend of mine was made to strip to her bra and panties by private security people at a Madrid shopping center security room. But also present were two males and another female, making up the 4 people of the group. They were all friends with no relationships among them. So in Pilar's case, two guys who she had classes with (she was 22) seeing her undress to her bra and panties was made doubly humiliating by the guys watching this happen to her. (They just ordered all four of them to walk with them into the back area of the center and they confronted them there. Unlike some of my writings here, so sexual charged atmosphere in this, just pure humiliation and those guys interacting with Pilar after it happened.
