When I first opened the site just now, I got a notice reading:

"Information
You have been banned from this board until Mon Aug 25, 2025 6:37 pm.
Please contact the Board Administrator for more information.
Reason given for ban: Found in the Stop Forum Spam database 255 times
A ban has been issued on your IP address."

As you can imagine, that did scare me briefly before I noticed I was not logged into my account (not sure why when I’ve used the site quite a bit today, but that’s a separate issue). (It was also a bit strange seeing an alert telling me I’d been banned until 22 minutes earlier, but I expect that’s just a time zone matter.)

I did eventually get into my account to let it disappear after three attempts, but I am wondering whether anyone else has had this and whether it has anything to do with the fact that it sometimes takes multiple attempts to gain access here now.

Same. I have been experiencing a lot of weird stuff like that lately, there are several websites that will not let me in unless I use vpn, ranging from clip studio's help site to YouTube not wanting to let me watch incognito videos or embeds in Discord. So I thought it was just me. Like I was actually worried maybe I was hosting botnets without knowing it, and that this was all my fault, but I have scanned everything and checked the IP blacklists, so I just don't know. Asstr-mirror is now being blocked by my antivirus, but on my phone it seems to run fine without anything suspicious, so.. I wish there was some better way to check on that kind of thing with certainty.

Holy fuck!
It’s back to 10+login attempts just to post!
What the fuck?!
I hope things get resolved again, because this is really a damper😓

That issue should be fixed now, don't ask how I fixed it, because I tried a whole bunch of things and I'm not sure which one fixed it.

I never used to check the "remember me" box but using it now seems to help with the looping-login thing I was seeing for a couple of weeks. Now I just get the frequent cloudflare "are you human" check, which I can live with.

the cloudflare check is just a new countermeasure against bots that I will unfortunately not be turning off just in case.

I was completely blocked by the Cloudflare check using Firefox; it would show "Just a moment" and hang. I could get Opera to work a little over half the time. As a last-ditch attempt, I tried the site with Firefox in a private browsing window. It works every time now.

For the record, I haven't had a problem for weeks.

When I look at the “Who is Online” numbers at the bottom of each page, they’re noticeably lower than what we were used to seeing before the recent issues. So, unless I’m missing something, it seems like one of two things (or maybe a mix of both) is happening: 1) Some people are still having trouble accessing the site; or 2) The higher numbers we saw before included a fair number of bots.

Either way, I’m just glad the major issues have been sorted out. Thanks to Girlspns for all the effort in keeping things running!

Or the third option: Some people are simply choosing to not even try getting onto the site because of the constant hassle it had been for quite a while.
