No one said anything so I don't know if anyone saw. I don't remember if I was against a wall or more central, but I know I didn't lift my legs. My school shirt was longer than the pe shirt, so I made sure that was on before taking off my shorts.

The occasion I was thinking of was not longer after I started at secondary school, so age 11 (early 1980s)
It was our second or third swimming lesson, and I really didn't want these boys, most of who I had only met for the first time a couple of weeks ago, to see me naked.
After the lesson I would change out of my swimming trunks under a towel, but at the start of the lesson I just relied on my shirt for cover.
I'd taken my shoes and socks off first, then my trousers, then after a quick glance round I removed my underpants (briefs). The only thing I had on was now my shirt.
I'd done this the previous week with no problems, but the shirt I had on now must have been slightly shorter.
As I bent forwards from the waist to get a leg into my swimming trunks, I felt my bare bottom make contact with the boy behind me - I just hoped it was his arm or his back, and not a hand!
The changing room was quite full - 45 boys in total, 3 classes with 15 boys from each. (The remainder of the classes, 45 girls, would have been changing in the other changing room)
Obviously I really didn't want my naked bottom making contact with anyone, so I quickly straightened up, and tried to get into my trunks by remaining upright and lifting my legs. Unfortunately this meant that my slightly-too-short shirt lifted just enough to expose my willy and balls to another boy, who was standing facing me and looking right at them.
It doesn't sound like a big deal now, but I was very shy and modest so I was mortified that he'd seen.
At it happens, his shirt was even shorter than mine, so I got a clear view of his privates too. (I was slightly relieved that at least my willy was bigger than his!)
Not long after, in common with many other boys, I started wearing my swimming trunks to school under my trousers, remembering to bring some underwear to change into.

I remember changing for pe, being bottomless for a short time, and panicking that someone might lift my shirt or see that I was naked from the waist down. Thankfully no one said anything.

The final memory is when I was 11. My penis was getting slightly bigger but I still wore briefs. I remember changing next to a girl and when I pulled my trousers down she took a look at the bulge in my briefs, right in front of me. As I was a little older, I wasn't too embarrassed.

Thanks for sharing those Donjohn. Reading your experiences really brought back how intense that dread was, the constant fear that a girl might see you in your pants and it would become this huge, embarrassing thing you couldn’t escape.

The white briefs story especially hit hard. That feeling of total exposure when someone lifts your shirt in front of the class, and knowing a girl you liked was watching… it’s the kind of moment that stays with you for years. The dread wasn’t just about being seen it was the fear that it would turn into something everyone remembered and laughed about.

Out of interest, how did your crush react? Did she say anything, or did she just look away?

Your second memory sounds properly stressful too, having to change while trying to hide that you had nothing on underneath. I used to have that same sick feeling in my stomach whenever there was any chance of being caught without my trousers on around girls.

The third one really stood out to me because by 11 a lot of boys were starting to move onto boxers, but some of us were still in briefs. I remember some kids used to tease boys that age for wearing “knickers” as if they were girls’ underpants. It could feel especially emasculating and infantilising, especially in front of girls when you were starting to want to be seen as a bit cooler and more grown up. That moment when a girl looks at you in your briefs must have felt extra exposing. How did she react? What colour were your pants that day? And did you ever end up seeing her in hers around that age?

It’s strange how powerful that specific fear was back then, the idea of being seen in just your pants by girls felt like one of the worst things that could happen. Thanks for posting your stories. It’s good to know other people carried the same dread around with them.
