Part Eighty

I knew that it was no use protesting about the added visibility working up a ladder to clear the guttering on the two storey house would give me. At least while at the back of the house I was only exposed to a few houses if anyone happened to be looking out. And they were reasonably far away, so that anyone who was looking out would not be exactly sure what was going on. But once at the top of the ladder, I realised just how high up I was relatively speaking and also just how complicated the task of clearing the guttering would be, since I could only work within my reach and the ladder had to keep on being moved along. "Don't worry, I'll be in charge of the ladder and keep you safe" Lexie announced. To add to my discomfort, my heretofore dormant prick began to spring an unwanted erection ! The ladies sat around in garden chairs on the patio sipping wine, while the teens and tweens seemed more interested in congregating around the base of the ladder with Lexie.

It took me forty five minutes to clear out the accumulated leaves, pine needles and bird shit, which I was then expected to sweep up into a bin bag on the patio while everyone looked on. "Now for the front" Lexie announced. "Look, can't I get dressed first ?" I pleaded. "At least put on my boxers ?" We seemed to have got away without anyone else noticing what had been going on at the back but, even if it wasn't the busiest street in town, there was no chance of escaping unseen while I worked at the front of the house for another forty-five minutes. "Absolutely not" Clara insisted, surprisingly forcefully. "You're our naked slave for the day, be thankful you have your boots on !" Nobody commented on my by now raging erection.

What could I do but try and accomplish the task at the front of the house as quickly as possible. Once I got to the top of the ladder, however, I was dismayed to discover that there was even more crud blocking the gutter than there had been at the back. I was also disturbed by just how far I could see and, by definition, be seen. There seemed also to be rather more movement and activity than I would have liked. All I could do was try to ignore it and leave it up to the women to make any explanations they might think necessary. Every couple of minutes a car would pass by and honk its' horn.

Up and down the ladder I went as it had to be moved along four times. The task seemed never ending. I tried not to respond to the laughter and conversation as various groups passed by and neighbours came out to watch and gossip. "Yes, our naked slave for the day...a raffle...yes, it was a charity dinner...I don't know if he's for hire !" I could not help but catch some of the answers Clara and the other ladies were giving.

It took almost an hour to do the front and there was still no sign of my erection subsiding. "Just the garage to do now" said Clara when I descended the ladder for what I had thought was the final time. I looked at the single story structure adjoining the house. "It's a flat roof. You can climb up there and clean it up with the broom." I clambered up the few rungs of the ladder necessary to get onto the roof and Lexie handed me up the broom. Although the flat roof of the garage was lower, when I stood up at my full height I was still in a decidedly exposed position. As I started sweeping, I noticed a young woman by the gate taking pictures. She then came into the front garden and began talking to Clara.

"Hi" she said brightly. "I'm Sally Simmonds. I'm a reporter on the local paper. The Express ? I'm the stringer on duty this weekend and we got a report of something going on here that might make a good story ?"

Not going to be a good story for naked fully erect Rob I wonder if Sally will have one of the papers photographers join her in covering the story of the very much uncovered Rob?

Part Eighty-One

As I continued sweeping, still conscious of how exposed my position was on top of the flat roof of the garage, I tried to overhear as much as I could of the conversations taking place beneath me. Clara seemed anxious to take advantage of some free publicity for the ethnic community association. " I see, a lottery to win a naked slave for the day....reparations for slavery, how interesting....what was the name of the professor who lectured ?"

All the while, the young reporter kept on taking photos of me as I worked. "Come on down Rob, Sally wants to interview you " Alison called up to me. I had more or less finished the task anyway. I handed the broom down to Lexie and began to descend the ladder, trying not to focus on my bobbing erection. Sally approached me confidently. "So Rob" she began, "the ladies have been telling me all about you. I must say you are very brave, though something tells me that you are quite enjoying it !" she laughed, staring pointedly at my erection. "I understand your work here today is a symbolic way of making reparations for slavery days ? How do you feel about that ?" "Er, um, well it seemed to make perfect sense when the professor was lecturing about it" I mumbled.

"And how did you come to be involved in the first place ?" Sally continued. "Rob had been volunteering as a life model at the Women's Institute art classes" Monica interjected. "You're a model ?" Sally asked, turning back to me. "Er, no, not really. They were desperate for someone to do it and it was a favour for a neighbour" I tried to explain. Lexie bounded up and grabbed my arm. "Rob is the bestest neighbour !" she exclaimed proprietorially. "Excuse my daughter" said Alison. "I was going to mention that, are you ladies happy with all the young girls here being around a naked man ?" she wondered. "Oh yes, it's all perfectly innocent. I've tried to bring them up to know there is nothing shameful about the male nude" Alison asserted. "Doesn't your husband mind ?" Sally persisted. "Dad cleared off ages ago" Lexie interjected. "To be honest, Lexie was starting to become a bit of a handful after her father left but having Rob around has worked wonders with her, he's so much more responsible now" said Alison. Lexie looked on proudly.

"Rob does so much for the community" added Anoushka, sensing some publicity for her shop. "He has been a big help in cutting down on shoplifting from my store." "In what way ?" Sally wanted to know. "Come around to the store and I can show you the poster" invited Anoushka. "I will" Sally agreed. "This all has the makings of a very good story. How about a group photo of you all together ?" she suggested. "Er, I was wondering, um, all these photos ? I mean surely you can't print them in the Express ?" I tried to interject a hint of caution. "Oh, that's not a problem" responded Sally airily. "We can insert modesty panels to save the sensibilities of our more conservative readers. But this is such a good story that I'm sure I will be able to syndicate it and there are other outlets who are not so fussy about what's shown, especially abroad and online !" she added happily, as the women and girls all gathered around me for the group photo. "Peace signs everyone, big smiles" Sally instructed.
