Fantasy Movie Re-Writes

Post by TeenFan »

One of the things I like to write about is reimagining fantasy fiction.
Either well known stories or obscure films made decades ago, many movies are great material to do an Embarrassed Nude Person remake.

I've already re-written part of a Russian kids astronaut movie in "It's In the Script".
Currently working on a major production based on "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." This one is starting off ENF, then certain
chapters will get a more extensive ENM version written up.

Other movies I can see myself doing remakes of are:

"The Neverending Story", 1984. Focusing on Atreyu and adding more scenes with The Princess.

"Sea Children", 1973. British film. Three boys and a girl find an underwater civilization, mostly more kids.

"The Lost Boys". Famous vampire story which has the Two Corey's in it.

"Peter Pan", based on the 2003 movie.

The Harry Potter movie characters.

"The Sandlot 2", 2005. The tall girl who pitches is hot and a real manipulator of boys, and the tall blond boy is just begging for it.

These are just a few ideas I might work with someday.
Tell me what other adventure and fantasy movies you think would be a great ENF or ENM (or mix) story.
If we get some writers working on this type of stuff it will be great for everyone.

Its a long time since I saw this and while the ending is rough, this could be a great story in the right hands

I see that movie has Bruce Davison in it.
That reminded me I did start a story based on "The Lathe of Heaven" which stars Bruce Davison.
"Dreamscaping" is the name of that movie I started on ENM side.

I see LAST SUMMER was rated X when released in 1969.
They were really strict back then on what an X rating was, and often it had nothing to do with level of nudity.
For crying out loud the movie "Midnight Cowboy" was released as a Rated X, and I would call that movie For Mature Audience today.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll be checking that movie out. Though I expect the casting of the actors to be ones slightly older than their
characters.

Its actually a good film, there is a rape scene in it, but a good writer could change that to something else and drop the element where they sent in a profile on a computer dating service (in 1969), a lot of the film taking those bits out and expanding on the rest could be good, the Cathy Burns character is a bit younger and wants to fit in and has a crush on John Boy Walton character
