I know it happend as I was one of those who were naked while several dozen girls watched us. It should never have stopped.

Does this Shebogyan Press article still exist?

I remember seeing it but will look for it again. I remember the boys were given the choice once that they could wear suits for a swim meet or go nude and a 17 y/o boy said they chose to go naked. This shows even males with adult genitals as a 17 y/o would have went nude in front of a mixed gender audience.

Ms. Maradel is again mentioned, and, it also reminds parents that only girls, but not boys are supplied swimsuits, although boys are to bring towels.In addition, the "Red Cross testing" that is mentioned as part of the program was done by representatives of the Red Cross, who were routinely females as evidenced in other articles. But also interesting in this article is the congratulatory remarks the Sheboygan Press throws at the Department of Public Recreation by discussing how many families came to watch the swimmers: "That it [Department] has the approval and support of parents over the community is evidenced in the crowds of mothers and fathers— 650 in all—who filled the pool balcony to capacity throughout the day Saturday, June 22, when the novices demonstrated their prowess for proud families."Although not stated, it is only conceivable that mothers and fathers would often bring the boys' siblings, which would include sisters. This lends at least some corroboration to many of the stories we have read on forums and discussion groups whereby writers contend that when they were boys, they recall parents' nights and remember embarrassment as they entered the pool area naked only to see girls their age they knew from school watching them.

I imagine it was mostly mothers who went to watch their kids learn to swim and I am sure they brought their other children. It is very possible there were a lot of young kids in the stands also and while the girls had swim suits, the boys had birthday suits

Check out part B SYNDICATED COLUMNISTS as it shows Dear Abby and her sister, Ann were both in favor of boys swimming naked but never girls.

One woman wrote to her to protest her son going swimming while he was naked as were all the other males while all the girls were in suits.

The males stayed naked the rest of the day even with the girls inviting more girls to join them Her husband was OK with the males staying naked while the girls never exposed anything. She tried to rein her sons in but her husband would tell her it was OK. Dear Abby said she should rein herself in and let the boys do what was natural. In short Abby was OK with only the males being naked with the girls as long as the girls kept suits on. She even said she was more amazed that the 19 y.o boy came out of the water naked to introduce himself to her and that she said it was OK that he was totally and APPORPRIATLY NAKED.

(A 19 y/o is not a boy, he is a man but Abby was OK with his being naked with a 10 y/o girl.

It's too bad there wasn't a swimming pool scene in "Back to the Future"

That would have been great if they showed it like our swim team. I would have loved them to show a naked male swim team with a girl in a one piece swim suit standing next to a naked male. I would not have wanted them to blur anything out however and even with actually showing the male genitals, it should still be a PG rating.
