Babysitting

This is a fictional story carrying on from the true account of my time at a swimming pool.
It involves one of the mother's (Mrs Wooton) of one of the 6 year old boys (Jamie) and his 8 year old sister (Angie).
A few weeks later, Mrs Wooton approached me just as I was arriving at the swimming school. She was just leaving with Jamie, her son, after his swimming lesson. She said that she had been chatting to some of the other mothers as well as the receptionist at the swimming school and they all thought that I was a sensible boy and she wanted to ask me a favour. She said that she knew that I was now 15 and wanted to ask me if I would babysit for her on Saturday. She said her husband was away for a few days and she wanted to go out with some of her girl friends for the evening. It would be just to keep an eye on Jamie and his 8 year old sister, Angie.
I said that I would have to ask my parents but if they agreed then I would be happy to do it. She had said that I should come around at about 5 so that I could play with Jamie for a while and then have some tea with all of them and then I could watch TV after the 2 children had gone to bed. She said I could stay the night with them and go back home the next morning. She also said that she would pay me.
By the time I got back home my parents told me that Mrs Wooton had already 'phoned them and they had agreed that I could babysit for them.

I was quite pleased that I had managed to get a job and some money for not really having to do very much. Jamie was OK to play with for a while and I was sure that Angie wouldn't be difficult for me. It seemed a very easy way to earn some money and be able to watch exactly what I wanted to on TV instead of having to watch what Mum and Dad wanted to watch.
I walked over to Mrs Wooton's house on Saturday afternoon and arrived a bit early but I thought that would be OK. Mrs Wooton greeted me and said that Jamie had been excited all day and wanted to play football with me. She said that Angie had a friend over but she would be leaving soon. She said I could play with Jamie until tea was ready which would be in about 45 minutes.
I left my bag just inside the door (it just had my pyjamas and toothbrush inside) and Jamie and I went across to a field next to their house to play football. The age difference meant it wasn't much of a game but Jamie just enjoyed kicking the ball at me. I set up a goal and we took turns at trying to score goals although I had to pretend to not kick the ball too hard and to let him score from time to time. The field was pretty muddy as it had rained hard most of the previous day and the goal was really just a big puddle. And so by the time Mrs Wooton called us in we were both covered in mud.
