It actually had a much higher escalation of an ending to chapter one at first. I decided to save that for later down the line so I can spend enough chapters setting build up.

Ah, yes. Two things I wish to bring up regarding this story.

I would like ideas. For now I am saving the situation in the cover image (which chapter 1 originally intended to escalate to) for the start of the second major arc when things truly escalate. Until then I would like you all to submit your ideas for what kind of situations you would like to see a boy naked in a mascot costume to get into. I will incorporate as many of them as I can so I may milk this concept for all which can be done with it but I am sorely lacking in ideas I can use with it.

Second is something I mentioned in the characters section that I smack myself for assume anyone would know. Yakuza are the Japanese equivalent of the American mafia. Though Japanese culture has mixed feelings on them. Skip the next paragraph if you do not want a bit of a history lesson on a foreign culture which I overreasearched to write my story in. Why I wrote my story in Japan is another matter.

The yakuza engage in organized crime involved money laundering, protection rackets, loan shark debt extortion, smuggling, human trafficking, prostitution, and drugs. However they also help organize and fund festivals, provide some order on the streets, and are known to never harm children. Yakuza are even known to protect children, and if they must collect a debt from a parent who has neglected their child and left the child home alone, they are known to commonly babysit the child while waiting for the parent and treat the child to food and games, treating the child better than their debtor parent does. The scenario of debt collector yakuza being better parents to children than the debtor parent is is so common it even shows up in Japanese media quite a bit. The Japanese government once heavily worked with and even relied on the yakuza out of necessity but now spend quite a bit of effort to vilify them so as to distance themselves from this old shame. Make no mistake however despite their good points the yakuza are a criminal mafia who are not afraid to use violence or murder for their own ends. Community outreach is merely a side gig for them, built off the backs of their victims.
