Hi everyone! This is my first time posting here. I finally gathered the courage to share my own story after reading many posts about embarrassing photos.
​I have a collection of four specific photos taken throughout my childhood (and not-so-childhood) years. Being a kid and not very shy, you can imagine how revealing these photos could have been. In my teens, these photos were my worst nightmare, and even in recent years they still haunt me a little.
Before I get to the story, I want to add some context. First, my native language is Spanish, so this story was translated using a combination of AI and Google Translate. As for me, I grew up in a home with an absent father, so it was just my mom, my sister (who is two years younger than me), and me.
The first one is a physical picture glued inside an old photo album. This album lives in a box where we keep all our important family documents. Because of this, throughout my teenage years, every single time someone needed to look for a birth certificate or a passport, my mom and younger sister would magically "find" the album and bring it out just to tease me.
​The torment upgraded when I was 15, when we were deep-cleaning the house and throwing away old electronics. We stumbled upon some old memory sticks, and my mom and sister managed to plug them into a laptop. To their absolute joy, they recovered two hilarious, high-definition digital photos of me. Now, one of them is literally the official profile picture of our family WhatsApp group, and whenever my sister gets mad at me, she shares them around as a form of petty revenge.
​Fortunately, I still have one last stronghold. In that same box of electronics, we found another old memory card with the fourth and final funny photo. Luckily for me, the file format is so old that they haven't been able to read it or transfer it to a computer yet. The only way to actually see it is by looking directly through the tiny screen of the original camera. It is safe from the internet for now, but knowing my family, they'll figure out how to download that photo any minute now.
