Why is there an archive's of the site is still actively letting members join and still active did it change ownership at one point or run out of space.

This forum is the 3rd generation of one website lineage combined with the 2nd generations of two other website lineages while also existing concurrently alongside 2 other active websites considered part of the same overall community, which as a whole dates back to the late 90s. So there's an ass-ton of past content that either predates this forum or was posted elsewhere, and those stories get posted sometimes in the archive subforum.
