Embarassing childhood photos and videos

I recently came across some old photos of myself and a friend playing on the beach in our pants/briefs, I have worked out we must have been 7-8 years old luckily the picture was always kept in a photo album and not on display in the house

My Mum has a picture tucked away in an album somewhere of me and our next door neighbours' son aged maybe three or four, standing in a paddling pool in our back garden completely naked, facing the camera and smiling for the photo.

Entirely innocent and I obviously didn't care when it was taken, but my Mum found the image highly amusing and used to bring it out regularly to show any guests that popped by, both adults and kids, which I started to find somewhat embarrassing from some point after I started school and eventually asked her to stop showing it to people when I was eleven or so, coming to the end of primary school.

To her credit she she did stop showing the picture, which is pretty exemplary of her attitude to my privacy in general - that is to say it didn't exist unless I raised an issue, but when I did she'd absolutely take my views on board.

I find it adorable that she wanted to show you off but I'm also glad she respected your wishes.

Just he felt casual shy for few mins when the ceremony started after that he never felt shy he was casual. Its common those days seeing boys naked in such ceremony.
As freesub said i think its development of mobile limited it. Because nowadays everyone have mobile and they explore it on internet. As nowdays its common when someone naked people immediately tease them saying will take a pic and send everyone.
But its not like that before 15 years. Mobiles are not populared that time and also internet facility is slow so no one mostly post it on interest. So no one care about being filmed. In those ceremony also cameraman only mostly take that video and photos that too some rich family only hire photographer to make video of ceremony. Most of normal family function will be simple and no photos taken. But rituals are same that time every function. I seen many functions like that no one take it big deal boys nudity that time. I understand. That was a good guess from TeenFan - I can see why the internet and phone cameras could have caused that change.

What did you think of it back then, seeing boys naked in ceremonies, in the bath, and in the village pond? Did you think anything specific about it, or was it so normal that you didn't really think about it? I assume girls stayed more covered up compared to boys.

It's funny to think that cameras becoming more common may have actually made these embarrassing childhood photos less common. (Yes, I didn't quite forget which forum topic this is!)

Its normal for all girls. You van see in villages most girls not care about boys nakedness. Some girls take this as cuteness. For some its just curiosity. I grown little city area and single i have just curious of seeing them naked. Nothing more. Some ladies sees it as cuteness they capture them naked in small and frame that photos as memory. Most of boys born before 2k have such childhood photo black and white in home. But yes as you said mostly girls are not allowed to capture like that. They are mostly covered after 7 outside house. Its rare to see their photos like that. If they naked also they wont allowed to take photos atleast panty they made us wear. This was quite embarrassing that time now when I recall the situation simply miss those days

I've seen videos of this ceremony on Youtube, but the closest to naked I've seen is skimpy loincloth type thing covering the groin.
Either more modern ceremonies steer clear of full nudity in public setting, or Youtube makes people take down any that show full
frontal.

I've seen recently posted Youtube videos of young boys and others swimming naked in Nepal or Vietnam or Indonesia. However, those boys
were most likely around nine years old, and the upanayan, where my research showed can take place for ages 12 up to 15 depending
on the particular sect. (a bit too old for nude videos on Youtube I suppose).

You are correct my upanayan was done at 15.
But that time video was not of that quality

15 is too old mine was done when I was around 9 and didn't involve turmeric thing but had to be clad in a loincloth which left very less to imagination.

It was in early 90s when camera rolls where precious (you had only 36 photos in one roll) so thankfully my family didn't think it necessary to waste the camera roll on my semi nudes and hence there is no photographic evidence of me in that loincloth.

Having said that I think almost every Indian kid has atleast one childhood nude photo in family album.

Ah, I cover this a bit in my "My ENF Stories" thread.

The reason I know my time as a girlhood nudist existed is because there are so many childhood photos and a couple home movies showcasing me prancing about fully nude as a child.

Sometimes when I have friends or a boyfriend or girlfriend over my parents will break out the photo album. I find it quite embarrassing since they only see it as a bit of childhood innocent eccentricity but I see it as my prepubescent self being seen nude by friends and lovers. They are always so intrigued too. In high school the idea that the shy buxom Jewish girl had a secret nude history caused much interest and smug grins from my peers.

I did not include it in my ENF stories thread because I was not naked for it but perhaps I should share the time my friends and boyfriend of the time from high school saw my nude childhood photos during a party at my house when I was 15. This was when I was still a self-conscious busty nerd and had not found my confidence yet so you can imagine how hard I was blushing as they teased me about it.

I feel like there's something almost primal about having your prepubescent self shown to someone who knows you only after maturity.

And I think it's doubly so if they know you sexually, for them to have that intimate knowledge and then get a glimpse of your innocence.

My Dad got an early cell phone which had a camera. So yeah, there are naked pictures of me being bathed in the kitchen sink which he never tired of showing off the visiting friends & relatives.
