Really? I think this is the best story currently running, so that surprises me.

fun fact in the 50s to early 70s it was not all that strange to see naked kids playing outside(in the yard) or in their homes during the summer across America. It was a cost saving measure. Since many families didn't have the money to buy new outfits, being a handle down culture at the time, parents didn't really spend money on summer clothing, it also save the washing cost(soap, water, electricity/gas) of the clothes. It was also quite normal for public schools to have nude swimming, with it being co ed in several of them, though it was most common with men swimming. The two big reasons was cost and actual the swimsuit itself. So the material of the school swimsuit back then were incredibly shitty. It'll either slowly dissolve(the first few layers, like the diy or paint being stripped via the chlorine) and fuck up the filters and pumps or It'll cause the students' skin to break out horribly. Leading to many school to give up on them outside of events and leading to nude swim classes.

Soil the theory that Beth lost all her warm clothes is true, Frank Sr. shouldn't have to big a problem if he kept her naked even after returning home. Especially since he's a purse pincher when it comes to money. And since its highly likely that Beth lost all her underwear as well, she'll have to spend at least the rest of the year with nothing underneath her clothes. And with Frank being a vet he most likely put his kids in a school with a uniform, if there was one around, leading to Beth going commando in a skirt to school. Definitely a constant reminder to behave.

As for when the girls go to church you could use the excuse that they're following the Bible. After all God made humans naked and intended for them to be naked. It was the second sin of mankind to make clothes right after eating from the tree of knowledge(1st sin).
