Popping in to tell a quick little tale I just remembered from grade school!
I was between 11 and 13, and was at our public pool.
It was a small, public pool in the center of an apartment complex.
I was with my older cousin who was around 14 or 16 at the time.
It was just us and a group of about 7 other boys, around her age.
We mostly sunbathed and soaked our feet and legs in the water.
I wanted to swim and play, but was trying to act ‘chill’ like her.
The boys were being rowdy, jumping and pushing one another into the water.
I remember we were both wearing bikinis, though, I didn’t have much to show off back then.
Anyway, there was a single building with an open hallway extending back about 10 feet from the entrance.
This split into the Men’s and Women’s bathrooms.
No doors, just hallways curving into the bathrooms out of sight from the main hall.
I went to the bathroom at one point and as I exited the Women’s hall, I looked up to the entrance of the Men’s hall.
There, standing just inside the entrance, was one of the boys!
He was definitely one of the older boys, and he was completely naked!
I was frozen in shock!
He was standing there completely naked and he was jerking off!
I saw everything, too!
After about a 5 second show, he darted back into the bathroom, out of sight.
I think I let out a nervous laugh (or some other noise) and quickly left.
As I exited the building, the other 6 or so boys were looking at me, giggling.
I walked over and sat back next to my cousin, but didn’t say anything.
The boy came out a little after and immediately ran and splashed into the pool near his friends.
They all laughed and were whispering while looking over at me.

Oh, looking back, I ABSOLUTELY think that was the case!
Talking with ‘B’ as I posted this, he confirmed it was most likely a dare from the other boys, given their reactions.
At the time, I think the shock and unexpectedness dampened my reaction.
Now, I’m wishing I’d reacted differently.
I was definitely ‘boy crazy’ at that age, and seeing a completely naked boy like that was a novelty!
I’m sure he used that experience as ‘material’ as well.

Now, granted, that was probably intended as shock imagery, and not so much because he desperately needed to jerk it right then and there. But later on, when he was on his own... maybe he did need to.

Close to it, if not *the first
I knew boys played with themselves, and I would come to enjoy many more more ‘controlled’ situations in the future.
But at the time, seeing a boy naked, let alone ‘jerking off’ was beyond my ability to navigate.
In this instance, given the public setting and randomness of the act, I wasn’t equipped to exploit that scenario yet (mentally or physically).
I didn’t tell my cousin who I was with out of naïveté.
Thinking about that aspect, it could have made things much worse/awkward
I’m not sure how she would have reacted.
Thinking about my own development at that time is strange, too.
I didn’t have anything close to resembling boobs yet, and was pretty short and petite.
I can’t imagine he was attracted to me.

Given your apparent developmental state back then, I wonder whether he would've put on the show for your cousin, given the chance. Did he specifically choose to flash you, or was it just because you happened to be the one who went to the bathroom at that time?

Kinda funny to imagine the "prep" process he must've done while waiting for you to come out and see.

Also, it might be interesting to hear about those "controlled" situations you experienced in the years following this!

I think he absolutely meant it for my cousin.
I think maybe that’s why his friends laughed when he came out.
The rest of the time, he kept looking at us, but would look away if he saw me looking.
And when I saw him jerking, I didn’t know ‘specifically’ what he was doing, but I knew he was ‘playing with himself’.

Oh, so you had a partial understanding of what he was doing. I suppose you'd heard somewhere that boys "play with themselves", and you had an idea of what that looked like, but you weren't up on the psychosexual dynamics behind it yet?

Did he seem sheepish when he'd look away to avoid your gaze?

If he really did intend it for your cousin, then that raises again the question of how your cousin would've reacted. I also wonder what type of reaction he expected from your cousin, and what he was thinking when he saw you walk out instead.

Yes, I knew boys played with themselves, but not the how or why.
After the ‘flashing’ he did seem shy.
He kept looking at me, but keeping his distance and pretending to not stare when I looked at him.
The other boys were definitely teasing him.
I can’t speak to his thought process, obviously.
And I really don’t know how my cousin might have reacted.
She probably would have laughed, although, given my age and her responsibility, she might have told him off
That would have been MORE embarrassing!
I really don’t think he meant for it to be me.
Like I said, I wasn’t much to look at at the time.
Now I just think what would have happened if the shock had worn off quicker.
