Copyright question

Post by Cheese »

Hey everyone, I was thinking about writing a story that takes place during the story of a TV show I like. Are there rules against this? I tired looking but couldn’t really find anything. Please let me know, thank you!

Nope its all anonymous / fan work anyway. We don't often have many fan fiction stories on here bit would be happy for the change of pace.

Obviously you couldn't actually publish them for sale as you'd be using anothers IP but for this kind of site you'd be fine.

Maybe you can chance things, like names and locations, a bit, so it is still based on what you like but different

What's the show?

I love fan fiction!
You find it on other similar sites but here not so much for whatever reason

No forum rules, but, the IP owners can force you to remove anything that damages their brand, that is an extreme, that you can work around.

A Saturday morning Kids TV show about 25 years ago had a section called Chums, at the height of Friends.

So its unlikely anyone will bother you, However, you could just post (using friends as an example) an introduction in the first post about a story based in New York about 6 pals and how they are trying to get through life, they could be named Matt, Matthew, Jennifer, Courtney, Lisa and David.
