Had either of my parents tried that on me at age 16-17, it likely would have resulted in an intense verbal argument. I was a very compliant teenager, however, asking me to essentially get naked in the main part of the house for any reason would have been resisted at the least. Since that never happened (my parents weren't spankers, at least not beyond the age of about 9) of course I can't really be certain of the outcome theoretically.
