Great chapter. Great to have a little bit more of Matt exposed too. I wonder if any of the girls will ask him any questions about being circumcised or whether they noticed?
And a message from Zach to look forward to.

Chapter Thirty

“What happened earlier?” Suzie quickly asked, as the girls laser focused on Jake. Who to you amusement, was now looking like the one that had just been doing star jumps in his undies.

“I thought you girls were going?” He quickly asked them, but the girls just grinned as they pulled their phones out.

I had to admit, that I was actually a little surprised. They had both said they had embarrassing pictures on the site, and Jake hadn’t seemed that embarrassed earlier. I mean, he didn’t really know me at all. We literally met yesterday, and I had seen him completely naked a couple of times now.

“Is that all?” I then heard one of the girls say.

I wasn’t sure which one, but Suzie was the one that seemed to be the closest one to us. I was a little confused, but I could see that Jake was relieved. Leo however, looked a little uncertain. It was like he was thinking about whether to say something or not.

“Well, you try doing a plank like that, Girls.” Jake then said, with obvious relief written all over his face.

“Yeah, but it’s not embarrassing.” Suzie then complained, with obvious disappointment. Which was shared by the other girls.

I however, had finally worked out what was going on. They had assumed it was Jake’s task, and checked his profile to see the tasks he had done today. Which were more embarrassing, than the girls were making out, but I guess it was the wrong kind of embarrassment.

“Maybe the task Leo did earlier, will be more interesting, Girls.” I then said, before I could chicken out.

I wasn’t much of a prank person, or someone that went out of their way to embarrass someone. However, I was more than happy to make an exception in Jakes case. The look on his face, just made it even better.

Although it also made me a little nervous, but he had tricked me a couple of times now, and didn’t even try to help me with the girls and my task. So it felt good to get him back, and Leo chuckling let me know that he thought it was funny too.

The girls however, were quickly back on their phones. The squeals and giggles that came from them a few moments later. Let us know that not only had they found the picture of Jake completely naked, but it had to be the first time they had seen him like that.

Which was a little surprising, as Jake had been playing for years by the sound of it. Although I remembered that this was the girls first year playing. So maybe they just hadn’t looked around the site enough to see everything.

Jake’s face however, was where I was focusing the most. He had shown a little anger initially, when he looked at me. However, despite the obvious embarrassment he was feeling. I felt a little pride swell up inside, as he gave me small nod.

“Omg!” one of the girls called out, as they obviously got a good look at the picture.

“He’s got hair, and we can see everything. You can even zoom in!” Fiona then said, as I grinned ear to ear.

I still felt mortified by the fact there was a picture of me, with a bit of my willy showing on the site. However, it wasn’t that clear, and it definitely wasn’t a fully naked picture that was crystal clear. So I was going to enjoy not being the centre of attention right now.

Eventually they calmed down a little, and after asking a load of questions that Jake deflected pretty impressively. They seemed to realise that they weren’t going to get any real answers from him, but that didn’t wipe the grins off their faces.

“We need to check the site more. Especially the task section. There could be loads of naked boys, and we might even know them. Like Jake.” Suzie then said, as she grinned at a still blushing Jake, and made it obvious where she was looking.

“Oh, Billy, Simon, and Andy are members. We need to find their profiles and see what tasks they have done. They only just started playing this year too.” Gail then said, before the girls burst into more excited giggles, as they named some more boys.

“Well, you better head home then, Girls. Then you can use your computers.” Leo then suddenly said. It caught us all by surprised as he hadn’t spoken for a while, but before the girls could say anything, he continued. “It’s easier to search the site, and the screens will be bigger.”

It didn’t take a genius to know that wasn’t the actual reason he was suggesting that they went home, but I definitely appreciated it, and I know Jake did too. Thankfully, I think the girls were too excited over their new mission. To realise Leo was pretty much telling them to go away.

To my own relief, despite how amusing it had been to see Jake being humiliated. The girls actually did leave, even though they made it obvious, they were looking forward to seeing us again. I was just hoping they would get distracted with boys their own age, once they found their profiles.

“Well, that went a lot differently than I thought it would.” Leo then said, a few minutes after the girls had left.

We had just sat down for a little while in silence. I wasn’t really sure why, but it felt a little awkward, and I had been waiting for one of them to break the silence. “They were sneaky.” I then decided to say, as I couldn’t think of what else.

“It was obvious what they were going to do.” Jake then said quickly, before holding his hands up, as I half glared at him. “Okay, I guess it’s only obvious if you’re been playing the game for a while.” He then explained, with a grin.

“To be fair, I didn’t realise they were going to delete all their photos except for one each.” Leo then said, before waving a hand at Jake. “It’s the truth, Jake. I figured why they wanted to stand by the side, but the picture deleting didn’t even cross my mind.”

“Fair enough, although Matt kind of screwed himself on that one as well.” Jake then said, and I couldn’t help but wonder what he was on about.

“Hu…” I then started to ask, before realising what he had meant. “Oh right, well I didn’t realise they had set me up.” I then said, as my face flushed a little.

“Well, at least you didn’t let Jake get off the hook. I was tempted to embarrass him, but was going to let him off.” Leo then said, with a nod of the head.

“Oh yeah. That was a dick move.” Jake then said, before I could get a chance to say anything. Although to my surprise and relief, he was smiling and didn’t seem angry at all.

“Well, you did deserve it.” I decided to say, after thinking it over for a few moments.

“He’s not wrong, and the look on your face was priceless, Jake.” Leo then said, with a chuckle. Which both Jake and I joined in with.

“Yeah, and it was a good one. Although we might all get a bit of heat for it.” Jake then said, and I couldn’t help but tense up a little bit, and even Leo seemed a little confused.

“What do you mean?” I couldn’t help but ask. I honestly didn’t see how me embarrassing Jake, would get us heat.

“I’m with Matt on this one, Jake. What are you on about?” Leo asked, as he shrugged.

“Seriously?” Was all Jake said, before he just shock his head. “Those girls are now going to spend most of the day, or as long as they can today. Looking up all the boys they know that play the game, and searching through their profiles.” He then explained.

“An…” I then heard Leo start to say, before he trailed off.

“Exactly, Leo, and when they find out why the girls suddenly got the idea to do that?” Jake then said, as if it was obvious. While I was still completely lost, even though Leo seemed to have figured it out.

“Matt, he is basically saying the girls are going to try and see if any boys their age or that they know, have naked or embarrassing pictures for the tasks that they have completed. If they do, then the boys will eventually hear that it’s our fault.” Leo then explained, as my eyes went wide.

“Yeah, but didn’t the sign up for it. Why would they attack us?” I had to ask, as I wondered if I needed to be really worried about this. Although the sound of Jake laughing, completely caught me off guard.

“They aren’t going to attack us, Matt. Seriously?” Jake eventually said, after laughing way too long.

“Ignore him, Matt.” Leo then said, as he shock his head at Jake. “You’re right about them signing up to be embarrassed. However, if any of them feel like getting a little revenge. Then the challenge system exists.” He then explained, after turning his attention back to me.

“Oh.” Was all I could say to that. It wasn’t great, but not as bad as I had been thinking a few moments ago.

“Although, I don’t think we have much to worry about. Now that I think about it.” Jake then said, as he again caught me off guard, and I had to wonder if he was doing it on purpose.

“Come on, explain, Jake.” Leo then told him, and I gave him an appreciative nod.

“Well, a couple of things. They’re likely to be thinking about boys they go to school with, or neighbours. So they’re just starting out themselves. The other is, the girls are likely to be making use of the challenge system themselves.” He explained slowly, with a shrug.

“True.” Leo said, before looking at me and frowning a little. “Everything alright?” He quickly asked me, which snapped me out of my thoughts.

“Oh, yeah. Sorry, I was just thinking about the challenge system. When I uploaded that picture earlier, I noticed I had some messages on the site to read.” I answered, while feeling a bit stupid for getting lost in my own thoughts again.

“Probably just task and point notifications. Just read them now, because we have time to kill.” Jake then suggested, as he stretched out. “Let’s head inside the den first though.” He then said, before standing up.

Without any reason not to, I got up to, and so did Leo. Before we all headed to the den, and went inside. I felt a little apprehensive about reading my messages around them, but Jake had already sat down and pulled his own phone out. While Leo was searching through his backpack.

Chapter Thirty One

As I sat down myself, I pulled out my phone. I felt a bit stupid for feeling so embarrassed and worried. Jake was probably right, and it would just be task and point stuff. Maybe some new followers. Although I couldn’t imagine there were that many kids playing.

“Come on then, Matt. Was I right?” I then heard Jake ask, as he continued to lounge in the bean bag he had sat down in.

“Give me a minute.” I quickly responded, with a shake of the head.

I then pulled up the site, and logged in. I saw that I had ten messages, and was more than a little surprised. That was a lot. Although I relaxed a little as I read them, and Jake was right. At least for the first four messaged.

The next three were new follower notifications. Which I had to admit, despite being weird, was also pretty nice too. It was hard to explain, as it was embarrassing considering they obviously would have seen the task photos I had uploaded.

The last three notifications however, just filled me with nervousness. They were private messages, all from different users. “Oh, I know that look. Spill it, Matt. What do they say?” I then heard Jake asking me, and I had to think about whether I wanted to read out loud or not.

“You don’t have to read them to us, Matt.” Leo then suddenly said, before he held up a hand to Jake. Who was about to say something. “Just read them first, or one at a time, and then tell us if you want to.” He then added, with a reassuring nod that I appreciated.

I decided to take his advice, and opened the first one. It was from someone with the username StanTheMan. Which actually made me chuckle a little bit. I could see his profile picture, and he definitely wasn’t a man.

“I got a message from someone called StanTheMan. He just said hello, and asked if I am the new kid that was moving to the town.” I said out loud, after deciding there was no harm in sharing that.

“Oh, Stan. He’s cool, and only lives a few roads away from us.” Jake said, as he opened a bag of crisps. “We will probably hang out with him soon.”

“Yeah, we can text him later, Matt. Just message him back, and say hey and say yes.” Leo then suggested.

I didn’t see any reason not to, and just sent him a quick message. It wasn’t much, but it answered his question. I decided to open the next message. Which was from someone called BringItOn, a name that left me both confused and intrigued.

“You okay over there, Matt?” I then heard Jake asking me, and I looked up a little startled.

“Yeah, just looking at another message. Do you guys know who BringItOn is?” I answered, as I wondered why no one just used their actual names.

“Isn’t that Carter?” Jake answered, although he was looking at Leo when he said that.

“Yeah, he’s pretty into the game, and I think he has quite a lot of points. His username is pretty accurate.” Leo answered, as I felt a little confused.

“What do you mean?” I had to ask, as I couldn’t quite work it out.

“He pretty much excepts every challenge he gets, and likes to send challenges out himself. He’s pretty popular with the girls, who want to get a good look at a naked boy.” Jake explained, as I glanced at Carter’s profile picture.

He looked pretty normal to me, although I didn’t really know what someone that seemed to love challenges would look like. Maybe a little cheeky, but Carter just looked like a normal boy. I guess he had blonde hair and blue eyes. Something I had heard girls apparently liked.

“Come on then, Matt. What did he send you?” I then heard Jake ask me, as I realised that I had zoned out a little.

“Oh er… one second.” I answered, as I opened his message. “Crap!” I then said, as I realised it was a challenge.

“Let’s hear it then. What’s his challenge?” Jake asked me, and I didn’t have to look in a mirror to know that it must have been written all over my face.

“Well, he said hello, and stuff.” I began to say, as I looked at the message again. “I challenge you to any game you want. Your choice, and rules. With the condition I can pick the location. It’s okay if you are chicken, you wouldn’t be the only one.” I then repeated it out loud.

“Oh, yeah. Definitely remember Carter now. Believe it or not, he’s actually a nice guy, Matt.” Jake then said, and I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at him. “I’m being serious, Matt. He a nice guy. It’s just when it comes to the EKTG, he is as his username suggests.” He then explained.

“It’s true. Outside of the game, he is easy going, and quite fun to be around. Which to be fair he is like playing the game too, just with more than a little competitiveness added to the mix.” Leo then said, as he backed Jake up.

“Okay, but still. Is this a normal challenge? Seems a bit risky to let me choose the game and rules.” I had to ask, as I thought about what they had just said, and read Carter’s challenge again.

“Well, I can’t speak for everyone. However, I would say that Carter the exception, not the rule. He just loves being challenged and pushed to his limits.” Leo answered, with a little shrug.

“The location is interesting though. Expect him to pick somewhere public, or somewhere other kids will be.” Jake then said, before resuming eating his crisps.

“Wait!” I then said, as I realised something about his challenge. “Is this normal?” I then asked, as I held my phone up.

“Going to have to get up, and come closer, or throw your phone over, Matt.” Jake quickly told me, as Leo leaned a little forward, before leaning back and shrugging.

I was a little hesitant to just give my phone to them. Well, more Jake than Leo, but still. It made me a little nervous, so I just got up and moved over to Leo, and then Jake. So they could both read it, before I sat back down.

“You can handle it, Leo.” Jake then said, before reaching into his backpack, and pulling out a bottle of coke.

“It’s not an actual official challenge. Well, not yet.” Leo then started to explain, before pausing a few moments. “It’s basically just easier to offer a challenge like this, and maybe negotiate. Rather than just sending an official challenge, that you can’t edit.”

“So I can just ignore it?” I asked, as I thought about what he said, and what it meant.

“You can, but unless it’s something ridiculous or really rude or aggressive. You should just respond, even if it is to say you aren’t interested. Besides, Carter is okay, and he’s obviously open to you negotiating, otherwise he would have sent an official challenge.” Leo answered, with a small shrug.

“Leo’s not wrong, but Carter is already letting you pick the game and rules. Not really much else to negotiate, except for the location and maybe the time and day. Although you’re stuck with today and tomorrow, as the week is almost over.” Jake then said, as he joined the conversation again.

“Wait. I thought all tasks had to be completed on the same day?” I found myself asking, after taking a few moments to take in what they had both said.

“Official challenges, Matt. This isn’t one remember?” Jake quickly answered with a shake of the head, before I noticed him frown a little. “Which I guess means you could do the challenge any time, not just today or tomorrow.” He then added, a few moments later.

It took me a few moments, to realise that he was correcting himself from earlier. Which put a rare and lonely looking point, in the ‘Jake’s not a complete dick’ list I have in my head. That I totally didn’t just make up.

“So I could just say, I want to play…” I started to then say, before trailing off for a few moments. “I don’t know. Let’s say hoops, and the rules were that H.O.R.S.E game, some kids play. But I wanted to do it, Tuesday. Something like that?” I then asked, as I tried to think of how to put it.

“Hoops?” Jake quickly started to say, before Leo just cut him off.

“Yeah, you could go back and forth a couple of times. Which you wouldn’t be able to do, if he had just sent you an official challenge. You would have to just go by what the challenge stated, and it would have to be done that day.” Leo explained, as he ignored Jake sticking his tongue out at him.

“So what do you think? Should I just say no. I mean it won’t cost me anything.” I then decided to ask, as I weighed up whether it was worth it or not.

On the one hand, I definitely didn’t want to do any more card draws than I had to. Which actually made me think of something I should probably know for certain. “Wait, do challenges count towards the minimum amount of card pulls you have to do?” I quickly asked.

“Yeah, we already told you that. I think.” Leo answered, before giving Jake a questioning look.

“Probably, I can’t remember everything we talked about.” Jake answered, before he looked at me. “As for the challenge itself. Let’s talk about it. Tell us what game you would choose, and the rules. See if that helps you decided.” He then told me.

“I don’t really know. Maybe something like penalties, but that would mean it would be public. Unless it’s just in our back garden or something.” I suggest, as I struggled to really think of anything.

“Well, he wanted to pick the location. So fair to say it will be public or somewhere he wants it to happen. So penalties is probably a bad idea, if you want to avoid like a park.” Jake responded, and I was actually surprised that he was actually taking this seriously.

“Maybe a computer game is the way to go. That will pretty much mean you have to play inside.” Leo then suggested, and I couldn’t help but smile at that.

“Yeah, I guess that could work.” I quickly said, while wondering why I was even entertaining the idea that I was going to get into a challenge with this Carter boy.

“He’s probably not going to want to just play normally either. So got to make it strip rules.” Jake then started to say, before seeing the look on my face. “Might be able to get him to just underwear. Like we played yesterday.” He then added, with a shrug.

“Knowing Carter, and his reputation. You will be lucky to get him to agree to just down to your underwear. He’s also likely to pick his house, which could be an issue for you.” Leo then said, and I couldn’t help but lean forward a little and frown.

“Why?” I had to ask, as I wondered why he would say something like that. Especially since he suggested a computer game, in the first place.

Chapter Thirty Two

“Carter has two sisters, one older and one younger. So it’s likely they would be there, and then there are his friends. He will definitely want them there, or at least some of them.” Leo explained, as I found myself even more reluctant to play.

“Before you say no.” Jake then suddenly said, after obviously picking up on how I was feeling. “It might be good for you to just do things like this. At least you have some control over it.” He then added.

Which was a fair point. Except for one obvious problem. Well, there were multiple reasons. However, to his point. Sure, I would be able to pick the game and rules, but if I lost. I would still have to draw a card, and I had no control over that.

“There is also another reason challenges can be more worthwhile.” Leo then said, and I quickly looked at him in surprise and interest.

“Oh, that’s a good point, Leo.” Jake then said, and now I definitely was interested.

“Well, to be honest. This goes down on the things we forgot to mention list, Matt. Although in our defence. It’s all in the terms and condition stuff you probably glanced over yesterday, and we did tell you to read them.” Leo then told me, just as I was going to ask him what he was on about.

“I will read them tonight, but come on. What are you talking about?” I quickly told him, in a more than a little impatient tone.

“Well, since you get to pick the game and rules. You could bet a card draw. So if you win, he has to do one of your three card drawers. Although you should wait until next week, because you’ve done all yours this week, so the risk isn’t really worth it.” Leo explained, as my eyes went a little wide.

“You can do that?” I had to ask, after trying to process what he had just told me.

“I’m sure we did say something about betting card drawers, now that I am thinking about it. But either way, yeah. You can bet multiple card drawers, but it comes with the obvious risk of ending up with more than three draws in that week.” Jake explained, just before Leo could respond.

“Why would I risk having to do more?” I couldn’t help but ask.

I mean sure, you would have a chance of one less card draw to do. However, you had just as much chance of ending up with one extra. More if you were stupid enough to bet more than one card drawer. It just didn’t make much sense to me.

“Well, you’re new, Matt. But to guys like Carter, it’s just more fun and challenging. You also have to remember that in this case. You’re the one picking the game and rules, and that’s a huge advantage to have.” Leo answered this time, and I had to admit. He had a point.

“I don’t know.” I then said, as I tried to work out if it was worth it or not.

“Well, you aren’t saying no. So maybe we just need to think of a game and some rules.” Leo then said, after a few moments of silence.

“Okay, how about this, Matt. Strip FIFA, but instead of how we played it yesterday. The person who scores, if they’ve already taken at least one thing off. Can choose to put something back on. That way, you get a better chance to stay dressed?” Jake then suggested, with a slight shrug.

“It’s a pretty good idea, but how about you think about it for a while. Didn’t you say there was another message, what does that one say?” Leo then asked me, after a few moments of silence.

I was having a hard time deciding what to do. Which was pretty surprising, as I hadn’t just flat out rejected the idea of Carter’s challenge. Something I honestly couldn’t quite believe, because it was so outside of my comfort zone.

However, Leo was right, and I decided to check my last message. Which I almost regretted doing, when I remembered that it was from Zach. Not that I had anything against him, but his challenge was pretty intimidating.

As I read it to myself, I couldn’t help but frown. Something Leo and Jake picked up, because they both asked if I was okay. “Yeah, it’s just he sent me another challenge, but it’s like Carter’s.” I then told explained to them.

“Is that all?” Jake quickly said, with a shake of the head, and I couldn’t help but half glare at him.

“Are Carter and Zach friends?” I then asked, as I wondered if I was being paranoid.

“They could be, why?” Leo then asked me, after they had exchanged a look.

“Just a bit odd, that he sent me a message like that, instead of an official challenge. Although I guess he could send me another official one this week, right?” I answered, as I tried to make sense of it.

“Yeah, he can’t send an official challenge, until a new week starts. As for it being odd, not really. We haven’t seen them that often, but a lot of kids play the game, Matt. So it might be pretty normal for others.” Leo explained, and I guess that made sense.

“So what was the challenge anyway. The same as his last one?” Jake then asked me, and I took a moment to read it again.

“Similar, but not the exact same. He wants a strip wrestling match, but I can either pick the rules or the location.” I then told them, and while it was still something that sounded crazy to me. It was at least better than his official challenge, that he had sent me.

“Oh, that’s pretty clever of him.” Jake then said, and I couldn’t help but look at him in confusion.

“How so?” I couldn’t help but then ask.

“Well he dropped the knock out bit, from that official challenge you rejected. So it’s definitely going to at least have you think about it. However, by letting you pick the rules or the location. It means he gets to choose the one you don’t.” Jake explained, and my eyes went a little wide, as I realised what that could mean.

“You can negotiate though, Matt. Before you dismiss it flat out.” Leo then suddenly said, and I looked at him in surprise. I would have expected Jake to say something like that, not him.

“Like what?” I had to ask, as I couldn’t think of anything I could change about the challenge.

“Could be tough, and say you want to pick the rules and location. It’s obvious he wants to beat you and strip you. So maybe he doesn’t really care about the rules or location. He just wanted to try and tempt you into accepting.” Leo suggested, before looking at Jake.

“He’s going to want more than that though. Zach loves the idea of beating and humiliating older boys. If I were him, I would throw in a card draw into the mix. All challenges end with the loser having to draw a card, but you can bet another. So he will likely add that.” Jake then told me.

“He didn’t with this challenge though.” I quickly pointed out, before looking back at the challenge.

“Because he wanted to try and get you to accept the challenge. However, if you try to negotiate, he will see it as you trying to up the ante. So he will probably agree to yours, but with an extra card draw added on.” Jake then explained, and I didn’t see any reason to doubt it.

“If he did that, and then you rejected the challenge and backed out. Especially after negotiating, he will probably brag about it, and you will get labelled a chicken for a while.” Leo then said, which caught me off guard.

I honestly wondered if they had changed personalities or something, because that was definitely something Jake would have said. However, he had a point. Well, they both had good points, and I had to think about it.

“So I basically have three choices, maybe four. One, I reject it. Two, I just accept his challenge and decide between rules and location. Three, try to negotiate. Four, either accept or back out of the challenge, if he counters my negotiation?” I then said out loud, just to see how it actually sounded.

“Pretty much, Matt. Personally, if I were choosing for myself, I would just take his challenge, and pick the rules. You however, Matt. Probably the original challenge and location, to minimise embarrassment.” Leo then said, after a few minutes had passed.

“I would definitely negotiate, and stipulate an extra card anyway. Knowing he obviously is desperate to wrestle me. However, Leo is probably right about you, Matt. At least with the location, you can keep it from being somewhere public.” Jake then offered.

They both made good points, and they weren’t wrong. What was the most surprising though, was that I was actually thinking about this. I would never have agreed to this a few days ago. Hell, I wasn’t even sure I would have accepted it this morning.

I wasn’t quite sure what had changed, but I couldn’t deny the fact I wanted to prove myself. I just wasn’t sure if it was to prove to myself, or others. I had always been shy, and modest. I still was, and the peg task a little while ago, definitely confirmed that.

“Okay, so er… could I just message him, and I guess Carter too. That I will let them know tomorrow? You know, that would be me refusing, or change anything? Like it would make them change the terms they set?” I then decided to ask, as I just didn’t trust there not to be something.

“It’s not official. So no punishments from the game itself. However, they can change the challenge if they wanted to, or withdraw it. I doubt either would though, unless they have card drawers left to do this week. Which might work in your favour.” Leo explained to me, and I was instantly curious.

“No way they haven’t already done their 3 card drawers this week, Leo. They probably had those done by Tuesday or Wednesday.” Jake said, before I had a chance to ask what Leo had meant.

“True, but anyway. What are you going to do, Matt?” Leo then asked me, as I thought about it.

“Well, I don’t want to do either before the new week starts. So I am going to tell them I will let them know tomorrow, and it will be for next week if I agree.” I responded after a few moments.

I was still shocked that I was actually seriously considering either challenge. Especially Zach’s. I mean, I had wrestled a bit, and knew how. However, a strip wrestling match? Against a boy? I was definitely going to be picking location for that, if I did go for it.

Carter’s was a little trickier, but strip FIFA might be the best bet. I thought Jake’s idea for the rules was good. I was also tempted to put a card drawer on the line for that one as well. It would mean I could get all three of my weekly card draws done.

I would risk getting an extra one to do, but what were the chances Carter was good at FIFA? I mean, he sounded like a kid that spent most of his time outside. So I was sure he wouldn’t be that good at games.

They both seemed to agree that it was a good idea, and that there wasn’t any reason to rush into accepting either challenge. They also helped me word the messages as well. Just to make sure I didn’t come across as rude or a chicken.

I can write pretty fast, the issue is just actually starting to write. once i start i am good to go, but just sometimes i don't feel like it.

Plus, these are pretty short chapters, so not that difficult. i once wrote a story called The Life of Matt Summers, which had probably an average of 20k word chapters. it's direct sequel Love Conquers All i toned it down to like 10k word chapters.

So writing 1.5k - 2k word chapters is pretty easy :D

It also depends if i am working a lot in a week, my job varies in hours, so some weeks i have more time than others.

Chapter Thirty Three

“Have a nice time, and be good.” My mum told me, as I got out of the car with my backpack.

I didn’t really need a lift, and it wasn’t like I was spending the night or anything. However, she was going shopping and Carter’s house was apparently on the way to the supermarket. So I didn’t really have a reason to refuse, and I guess it saved me walking for twenty minutes.

“I will, Mum. Thanks for the lift.” I responded, as I stepped away from the car, and gave her a smile.

“Remember, if you need picking up. Just phone your dad or me, and we will come pick you up. Especially if it starts to get dark. You’re not to walk home alone in the dark.” She then told me, just as I had started to walk away.

“I know mum, and I will probably be home before tea time anyway.” I quickly responded, while just about managing to stop an eye roll that would have earned me a lecture.

“If you’re going to be home for tea, then let me know a couple of hours before.” She then said, and this time I just nodded.

Thankfully she glanced at her watch, and gave me a loving smile before driving away. Leaving me to take in the road that Carter lived down. It didn’t look any different from any other road to me, but as I walked down it, to find his house number. I felt a sense of dread in my stomach.

“You’re a complete moron.” I then said to myself, as I walked for a few more moments, before spotting the right number.

I still couldn’t believe that I had agreed to this. Even more so, because it was mostly my idea. Well, the challenge originally came from him, but I had been the one to not only agree, but to suggest what we will be playing.

The only thing that gave me some confidence, was the fact that he had asked me to bring my PS5 and FIFA, because he didn’t have a computer. Which now that my nerves were getting the better of me, made me wonder why he would agree to my suggestion.

Jake and Leo just told me that he likely has played round his friends houses at some point. So he probably knew how to play FIFA, but they doubted he would be much good. Carter wasn’t one for staying indoors that much apparently.

I had spent the rest of Saturday, and Sunday hanging out with them both. They had shown me more of the town, and where a lot of the places I would need to know, were. I had even seen a couple of other kids doing challenges on Sunday.

Although no one ended up naked, I did see plenty of topless boys, and both boys and girls in their underwear. The girls made me blush, and feel a little awkward. However, it was mainly the fact that it was confirmation that it was actually real.

The E.K.T.G, wasn’t just something Jake and Leo had made up, and got a couple of others to join in, just to fool me. The tasks were also the ones I had done, and seen Jake do. Which was a little disappointing, as it would have been cool to see a couple of the others.

The only downside, was the fact that not only had I agreed to Carter’s challenge. Which was bad enough, even with me being able to pick the game. It was also the fact that I had agreed to Zach’s as well. Something I still couldn’t believe.

But if all went well, but tomorrow evening. I would only have to do one more card drawer this week, as I had to bet a card drawer to get them both to agree to the changes I wanted. Although it meant if I lost both, I would have to do an extra two draws this week.

It was risky, but again, Leo and Jake had helped me decide. I was relying on Carter being bad at games, and using the fact that Zach was younger and smaller than me. Should mean that I had an advantage, and I did know how to wrestle as well. Even though I wasn’t very good.

It still sucked a little, but I needed to pick the location and rules. So had to compromise, and also let him bring two witnesses. Which I had reluctantly agree to in the end, because Jake and Leo had said it made sense. I was also able to do the same, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to or not.

Before I could get too lost in my own thoughts, I came to a stop at Carter’s front door, and knocked. A part of me still wondered if I should just walk away, and deal with whatever consequences that will bring, but I couldn’t do it.

Although as I stood there, waiting for the door to open. That little voice inside my head, was getting a little louder. Thankfully, or maybe unfortunately. The front door then opened, and Carter stood there grinning at me. At least he looked like the boy in his profile picture.

“Perfect timing, we just got the front room all set up.” He then said, as he stepped aside so that I could walk in, but I just stood there.

“We?” I couldn’t help but ask, as I wondered if I had misheard him.

“Yeah, my little sisters are home. I am looking after them until my parents get home later.” He answered, as if it was no big deal. “Oh, and Wes, he’s my best mate.” He then added, before waving me inside.

“Oh, I thought it would just be me and you.” I then half whispered, as I walked past him, and stood a little awkwardly as he shut the door.

“Not going to back out are you?” He then said, with a grin that was more challenging, than a genuine question.

“No, just surprised.” I answered half honestly, as I actually thought about doing just that.

However, I then remembered what Leo had told me Saturday. He had said Carter had two younger sisters, and they would likely be there. He even mentioned he would likely have his friends over, and both he and Jake had offered to come today.

Something I almost agreed to, but in the end, was hoping it would just be me and Carter. At least that way if I lost. It wouldn’t be as embarrassing. Although that felt a bit stupid and silly, when there would be a picture of the loser on the site.

I couldn’t change it now though, and followed him into his front room. Where I saw two younger girls, that looked strangely similar to each other. Even for sisters. They were sitting together, but before I could think about it too much, I noticed who I presumed was Wes.

“Hey, Dude!” The boy said to me, as soon as he saw me.

I said hi back, and Carter introduced me to everyone. It turned out that his younger sisters were twins, Katie and Sara. Who were both 10 years old. Wes was the same age as Carter, and while their hair was similar, his eyes were a grey. Something I hadn’t seen before.

“So, we have moved the chairs apart, so they can watch from either side, or behind us. You have a cushion to sit on if you want, or just kneel or sit on the carpet.” Carter then explained to me, before looking at my backpack.

“Okay, should I er… set the PS5 up?” I asked, as I tried not show how nervous I was.

“Nah, give it to Wes. He can set it up, while we go over the rules again. Just so we’re clear, and everyone understands them.” Carter answered, just as Wes came over and took my backpack off me.

“Yeah, I know how to do it easily. I have to bring mine over any time I want to play games here.” Wes said, as he pulled the console, controller, leads and FIFA game out of the backpack.

“Okay, so first up. We will have five items of clothing each. So you can take your trainers off, and throw them in the hallway. That leaves us with two socks, bottoms, underwear, and a top.” Carter then said, as I turned my attention back to him.

“Yeah, and er… well. You lose a piece of clothing every game you lose. Red cards mean you lose an item too, but, after you lose one item. You can put something back on, instead of the other taking something off.”

“But, you can’t do it twice in a row. Otherwise we could be here all day, and that would get boring.” Carter then clarified, while reminding me that negotiating the terms of the challenge, was a lot harder than I thought it would be.

“Carter said we can be in charge of making sure the rules don’t get broken.” One of the girls then said from the couch on the other side of the room.

“We even have a pen and notebook each.” The other one then said, as I looked over.

Despite the embarrassment, and sense of dread I was feeling. Especially, as there really wasn’t any way of backing out now. The look on their faces, and how excited they sounded. It was hard not to smile, and think how sweet they were.

“Yeah, you girls are in charge.” I then heard Carter say, but while the girls giggled happily, I could tell that he was just giving them something to do. The little eye roll he did, was a dead giveaway.

“Okay, I am done. What were the rules on the team choices?” Wes then said, which made me jump a little, as I hadn’t been expecting it. Thankfully, none of them seemed to notice though.

“Winner of a game has to keep the same team, but the loser can change theirs if they want. I am going with Chelsea, and I think Matt said he would be playing as Man Utd. No fancy tactics or formations either.” Carter answered, before I could even think of responding.

“Cool, so four minute halfs as well, right?” Wes then asked, as he made himself comfortable on a chair to our other side.

“Yeah, we have all morning and most of the afternoon. We can have breaks as well, maybe stop for a lunch break if it takes a while. Although you can’t put any clothes back on during those. You’re stuck with what you’re down to.” Carter answered, while I blushed a little.

I was starting to wonder if I had been a little naive when it came to negotiating. The things I had asked for, didn’t seem to have given me much of an advantage. At least it didn’t feel that way, and I tried to work out how long the game might actually take.

But it was too hard figure it out. Eight minutes a game didn’t sound like much, but there would be extra time, and with breaks potentially, we might only do four or five matches an hour. I mean it could be over in six matches or less with red cards, but I doubted that would happen.

“Cool, well good luck.” Wes then said, as I got as comfortable as I could in front of the tv.

It took a few minutes to start the game up, and get the settings, tactics and team selections out of the way, but we eventually were ready to play the first match. The room instantly felt a lot warmer, which was kind of ironic, as the last thing I wanted to do, was take anything off.
