A 12 year old David Elliot was made to strip completely naked at the end of the movie “The Possession of Joel Delaney.” The scene was not in the script when the boy took the part and he was quite shocked when told he would have to take off his clothes in front of the young actress who plays his sister in the movie and also in front of Shirley MacLaine with both females fully clothed while he stripped naked. He not only stripped naked in front of the female actresses but also the entire crew filming the scene and he said years later that it was embarrassing and traumatic. In 2020, David Elliott appeared on the YouTube channel Let's Talk Jaws (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdcVpaFDmrA). At about 19:40, the interviewer asked him how he felt about the nude scene. He said, "That movie was worth thousands of dollars of therapy." He went on to explain that the table scene was not in the original script when he took the movie. During the last two weeks of shooting, they rewrote the scene so that he would have to dance naked on the table. He said, "My mother, who was supposed to be my guardian, was like 'Sure, fine, whatever.'"

The film was shot on standard 35mm motion picture film. Because the top and bottom portions of the frame would be cropped when projected with the wide screen format in theaters, the director didn't worry about things like boom microphones showing in the upper portion of the frame or David's penis showing in the lower portion of the frame. When the film was released on VHS, the full 3x4 frame was included, so David was seen in all his glory. The DVD version uses the wide screen cropped format.

Not only did he have to dance but the female star saw all of his parts. His parts are also extremely small and his balls are very large which I'm sure was extremely embarrassing knowing his co star could see that. And that everyone for the rest of time could with the uncensored version.
