Just to be clear it was a curious observation not a suggestion, based on the text it isn't entirely clear to me that Jonathan was engaging in heinous malicious behavior either, some take great offence to what others consider banter.

Yes, I was very much struggling with this one as well. Having to constantly go back and add all the missing punctuation and gaps really does make it very difficult to actually engage with the story being told. I did make it through it all eventually, but I didn’t really get to enjoy the story itself as much as I would have liked on that basis.
