I’ve always used that checkbox. I assumed most people did as I simply can’t imagine many decent reasons you wouldn’t unless it’s a shared device and you don’t want other users of the device getting into your account.

I’ve been having that problem myself, though, and it frequently still logged me out between uses anyway.
I've been using the checkbox for as long as I can remember and haven't been logged out. I did find actually opening the site wouldn't work earlier in the week, but when I did connect, I was logged in.

The times I’d find myself not logged into my account always came directly after an attempt (or multiple consecutive attempts) that failed to even load the site at all. It never happened if the previous attempt succeeded. (I was initially thinking it was the site’s response to the new laws in my country targetting sites of this nature, but seeing it happen to users in other countries indicated it was purely a coincidence.)

I'm getting the 403 error message most of the time.

Well this is interesting, I saw people were somehow still posting yesterday and today, so I finally think to try Windscribe and make the site believe I'm in another state.. THAT worked. Sooooo are the new security measures attacking my IP, thinking it's a bot? Because it would be the fourth one this month. I've checked the IP blacklist sites, I'm not on em. Would a mod maybe PM me and whitelist my address?

And on the subject of the attack.. how is it this hard to just trace where the hacks are coming from and report them? Or block off their entire range? I know little about these things, but enough that this is quite puzzling.

It's a real shame, it feels like the site is being specifically targeted by someone. We had all the spamming earlier this year and now this, making the site almost unusable past a certain hour of the day.

What sort of sad loser spends their time targeting a niche forum like this?

I presume the screen that appears when I open the site telling me that it's checking that I'm human is to stop bots.

Hello.

Yesterday, I couldn't reach all the evening 6PM to 23PM (Western Europe).
At this moment (5PM), the forum is accessible for me. Just I need to reconnect sometimes (first time, login fail, second time ok, and later I see again I'm disconnected). So it's already a nice improvement ;)

I hope everything will be good soon! Thanks for the work.

While there is some weirdness (being asked to sign in repeatedly, etc) the new anti-bot thing seems to be helping.

Um, just to add, I'm also getting "too many requests" errors on some browsers with VPN off. Still no idea why my IP got hit, but I'll uh.. wait for a mod to help.
