Story Contest #6: The Fool

Each month there will be a new contest with new prompts provided, however each contest will have some sort of theme. Kind of like a prom theme.

This theme will revolve around The Fool. Each prompt relates to something that has to do with the Day of Fools, aka April 1st. You can choose 1 of the 5 prompts provided to write OR you can come up with your own story that fits into the theme of the contest.

The prompts will relate to the theme, but you can ALSO choose to write something unrelated to the prompts so long as they still fit the theme.

The theme of the Fool is pretty simple. Pranks, tricks, and so on. It does not have to take place on April Fools Day, it can just be a prank related story. Also, the prank does not have to be on the victim. Perhaps instead, you wish to try and prank the reader? Subvert expectations? Maybe I dunno the story starts heading one direction and then it becomes an entirely different story. Who knows, the possibilities are endless. Maybe the story is about a literal fool. Whether it be a jester or a dumbass. As long as it relates in some way, you’re solid.


The Rules:


- In order to be considered your story must be included in ONE thread, but must be posted in a thread SEPARATE from this one.

- You must include The Fool Contest in the Topic Title AND you must include your OWN title as well similar to the previous contests.

- Your story may be either ENM or ENF related

- Your thread can have as many parts as you want BUT MUST be finished by the deadline. If you choose to continue it later that’s fine, but I will ONLY judge what is submitted by the deadline. Late entries are fine, but they will not be considered for any prizes.

- All victims in the story must be 16+ and sexual violence, assault, r****, etc is NOT permitted. Bestiality and incest are also off limits.

The Prompts

1. It’s a Prank War! Between multiple people! Maybe a sibling rivalry, maybe a cheerleading hazing ritual between rookies vs seniors, maybe it’s between boyfriend and girlfriend? Girlfriend and girlfriend? Boyfriend and boyfriend? Neighbor vs neighbor? Whatever it is, it’s a prank war!

2. The Jester of the Court is here to entertain whether it’s through roleplay or actually living through it, this story revolves around the protagonist acting as a jester but with stakes raised much higher than usual.

3. A naive protagonist. What happens when the victim of the story is simply ignorant? Dumb as dirt? The Karen Smith of ENF. The Patrick Star of ENM. And their stupidity ends up with them or maybe even their smarter friend embarrassed.

4. The story is not what it seems. At first it might seem like a typical ENF/ENM storyline. Maybe it’s another day at the pool or beach, a stroll in the park, or something else, but either way the story isn’t what it seems. It’s up to the author to provide the twists and turns, subvert expectations, and make the reader the one who is the fool in this case.

5. Oops. The victim tried to pull a prank on someone, but it backfired miserably. Maybe they tried to get revenge on their bully or mean boss. Maybe they’re the pranking queen or king and walked right into a classic hook line and sinker. Either way the prank they pulled did not go right at all

A long time ago there was a story on one of these boards about two neighbors, teen-aged girls, trying to prank/humiliate each other but the pranks always seemed to mis-fire and the result was that their moms were the ones losing their clothing in public.
