This is so frustrating. I am in the UK and I have tried with and without VPN but it hasn't helped me. I can usually still read the posts and stories but cannot log in and so cannot comment or even thank the person who has written. I hope the issues can be resolved as I'm sure its putting off many contributors.

I'm still only can gain any access using opera and the VPN set to Europe, I tried using my normal browser firefox again, and both for the main page the index.php page and even when I got a page to load and tried to sign in got

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

on both of them, this site is still broken for users in the US, not sure when and if it will be fixed, but it still not working for people trying to access it in the US.

All of my troubles went away when I recycled my VPN connection. I get the verify you are human page but that is not a problem.

Likewise. Using a VPN made a huge difference for me. And I also don't mind the verification page, especially since that seems to have circumvented the hacks.

Unfortunately, if that's what it takes, overall activity here will probably take a hit. The casual visitor would not be aware of the VPN factor, and others simply may not know how to set one up.

From what I can tell, posting and viewership have already dropped quite a bit—hopefully just a temporary condition.

I have been getting the constant forbidden errors, and now the site is entirely in text mode for some reason. it is truly bizarre and i hope this is all over soon so the site can go back to normal.

Really glad to see this site somewhat usable again.

Sadly, in order to log in, you have to log in 25 times just to actually log in once, then to post a message, you have to log in another 35 times, then you have to log in another 25 times just to log out again. Still, I can appreciate that this is a complex (and fucked up) situation, and I'm grateful to the mods who are working hard to rectify things.

Mostly back to normal for me aswell! I had to sign in 4 times to post this reply, but the site is no longer text-only and i haven't gotten an error yet! Glad it is over.

Hmmm so far so good, seems like it's working without VPN on.. but then earlier today I was able to get it to access like two pages then it went back to blocking me. The activity has slowed to a crawl here, so I hope it is fixed.
