What age did you stop being bathed by caregivers?

Dormouse - It's a pity Clara didn't have any photos from the bath experience. She could have sent them to a child Johannes Brahms to drive him crazy.

If I remember correctly, around age 7. But of course, the door was never locked until I was 12 or 13.

Any photographs taken in 1831 would have required quite a long exposure, and not just of the subject.

I wonder what age most people stopped getting bathed by their parents or caregivers? Are you male or female? Did you get bathed alone or together with other siblings or the same or opposite gender? Was there a large age difference between siblings, or perhaps an older sibling helped to bathe you? Or the occasional baby sitter? Parent of the same or other gender?

Male, grew up in the Midwest USA.

Usually it was just me in the tub. Mom did the bathing, and I think I was around 7 when I started being on my own. Usually it was just me although occasionally I'd have to share the tub with my brother who's a few years younger.

I don't recall ever having a babysitter supervise me in the tub. I'm a little sad about that now, most of our sitters were girls from the same family down the street who were ~10 years older. In retrospect they were reasonably attractive and I would appreciate having memories of them knowing how I looked in the tub.

My parents rarely went out together when my sister & I were too young to stay home alone. So, I missed out on the "being bathed by the babysitter experience" (unfortunately).

My aunt's son, his mother gave him a shower until he was 13. He wanted to and he has a very large penis.

I can’t have been older than five, I had younger siblings that needed attention. Although I do remember being bathed by my older cousin when I was around six or seven. I was staying at my Aunts house for the weekend and I got sick and vomited all over myself. My Aunt ran a bath for me to get clean and sent my cousin in to supervise.

She’s eight years older than me so she must have been around 14 or 15. I remember her walking into the bathroom as I sat naked in the tub, she looked quite nervous and a bit confused. She didn’t have any brothers so I think she didn’t quite know how to handle the situation. It’s unlikely, but I think it’s possible that was the first time she’d seen a boy naked in person. I was embarrassed by being seen naked by a girl, but my upset tummy suppressed my usual feeling of shyness, so I didn’t make any attempt to hide. I think her own obvious nervousness made me feel a bit more comfortable

I don’t remember her physically bathing me, she just watched as I scrubbed myself clean and helped me out of the tub. I think I dried myself too, and that was the end of that. We’re both adults now and I’ve always wanted to ask her about it.
“Hey, remember that time I vomited at your house so you had to give me a bath, that was weird right?”
